Unfortunately, I don’t think it was any mystery that Hugo’s time has come and gone. Happy he’s still getting a paycheck and getting to live in LA to boot.
Always a legend.
Living in LA is the worst part of his job honestly.
I'm sure all the warm weather, beaches, and other rich people LA stuff is brutal for him
It's probably different if you are able to spend a lot of money.
It's actually probably a decent place to be broke as fuck, relatively. It's a hard place to be just getting by.
Buddy, you're from Ottawa. Do you have any idea what you're talking about? It's a great area in a whole bunch of ways. It's also absolutely huge. There are good neighborhoods to be middle class or working class in.
trying to make ends meet is probably the worst situation there relative to what those people would be going through elsewhere, but if you can afford the base cost of living, it's pretty hard to beat. I'm not and don't know anyone who is, but it seems like it'd be pretty tough to beat the weather and social security aspects there for the homeless as well
i was working as a barista & an outdoor shop for 11 years there & had a blast. it was throughout my entire 20s, though, so that helped. i know it's skyrocketed in price w /r /t rent though.
Its not warm yet still kinda cold only in the mid 70s right now
Yeah, LA is fine if you’re rich enough. Otherwise it’s a poverty trap hellhole.
it's really only a hellhole if you're in between homeless (which is obviously a hellhole but for different reasons than location) and middle class (assuming middle class is who can afford the base cost of living - you get virtually all the benefits except owning property). which is obviously a large part of the population, but the majority of people that live there are happy they do
wtf are you talking about
I’m sure it’s a great place for multimillionaires
LA is awesome though
Don’t confuse rich people LA and poor people LA
Very different places
Lots of fake people but in his bubble it might be nice.
Fake people is the same anywhere
Good point.
You’ve clearly never lived in LA.
Great to see that he enjoys his retirement lol
Lloris and Giroud were recruited to MLS for their sexiiness (not because they're still world class)
Giroud was a beast yesterday tbf
Doesn't Giroud play for AC Milan? Or did I miss his transfer?
Yeah he's moving next year!
Heck, they should try playing Giroud in goal.
I'm not surpised tbh. We should've been pursuing a Lloris replacement earlier than we were, but with the other holes in the squad the situation was understandable.
I’m just glad we wait and got someone decent like Vicario. The replacements I wanted the last couple years don’t look to have panned out/been as good as Vic.
Nuno wanted to replace him to be fair to Nuno.
Dude lasted way too long here, and I ain’t talking about Nuno
It's hard to tell though. Lloris was still great in 21/22 then fell off a cliff in 22/23. Casimiro was fantastic in 22/23 and has fallen off a cliff this season.
At least we have Vicario!
I had a feeling this would happen when we signed him haha when Giroud comes this summer we’re just gonna have to score more than we concede lmao
Whatever.
He is a legend and I’ll always love him.
He may be bottom of the list, but a quick look at the percentage of goals conceded vs shots faced and he is mid 30s, which is pretty much in line with all the keepers in the bottom half...lies, damn lies and statistics, anyone?
Also, Schultz in 16th place has conceded 7 from 26 shots, compared to Willis in 2nd who has 6 from 26. Why the discrepancy?
Hang on there. Friedel played for us until he was 43. He was pretty good as well.
'mid-30s' as his % rate of conceded vs shots faced, not his age.
On the one hand, hate to see Lloris down there. On the other, FUCK YEAH GET EM CELENTANO, THATS MY BOY 🧡💙
I’m a Galaxy fan, so I like so see LAFC struggle, but seeing Lloris struggle too gives me mixed feelings lol.
Think of it this way: Lloris is just enjoying life in LA, and LAFC are struggling.
Vamos Galaxy!
another fcc fan lfg 🧡💙
oh shit I found my people! FCC and COYS for life 💙🧡💙
I miss him
I went to LAFC vs Earthquakes game this weekend and he looked… bad
Is anyone really surprised?
I mean, yes, going from starting for a premier league team and putting in mid table performances to being the worst keeper in the MLS in the space of a season is a pretty monumental decline.
He was bad for us last season but he was nowhere near this bad.
Feel bad for Hugo but nice to see Los Angeles Fakers Club in their place.
Galaxy will always be the actual LA club.
Real asf
Giroud can't get here fast enough
LA lost to SJ over the weekend. 'nuff said.
Wrong. FC lost to SJ. The real LA team beat SJ despite being down to 10 men.
Which team has Lloris?
"LA"FC
This is almost relatable as taking a world class goalie and putting them in rugby. What’s defense anyways? It’s only you, yourself, and a forward pass out there in the MLS.
Bad use of data.
When I saw this post I assumed it was on the FC Cincinnati subreddit as my guy Roman is at the top. Didn't notice that my other guy Hugo was on the bottom at first. :(
Excited! I’m gonna go take the kids and see him again tomorrow!
Jfc who’s this J. McCarthy fellow?
Update: he’s apparently the guy Lloris replaced… ouch
Galaxy master steal.
