Tbh dude you just let your son figure it out, If you baby him it will make it so much worse for him in the future. If you dont want your kid to be harmed by the internet, dont give him the internet. Other than that yes this game is a lot of fun, There are easy to download mods on steam and its a great physics sandbox game. There are also a lot of younger kids on here so he will be able to make friends very easily.

It's probably one of the better games for children, the game has nothing noteworthy that can "taint" your child (if you're that kind of parent) and gives people the freedom to do what they please. And don't worry about the workshop having mature addonsa because you really have to go out of your way to find them, and I doubt your son will want to.

it is just us that too scared because half life 2 (the base stuff that this game use) are used to be scary but not horror, just download a map that look cool and have no creepy things

the ambience does, sometimes scary, sometimes some map just had a random police car sfx or something

I mean, It all depends on how you use the game. You can make the game either horrible or amazing. It just depends on how the player is. Also you can do anything in the game, good or bad. So both yes and no for me.
