We need to take a boat to Kulangsu. When we arrived there were 5 historic places we could go to, we had a tour guide and the experience was great. However, you need to walk a lot and for all the places you need to buy tickets because the place is quite big and you need a lot of time spent on it. So don't buy all the ticket.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The temple was nice and clean and we loved the turtle and lotus ponds. It was free to enter when we went but tricky to register via WeChat. Plan to spend about an hour or two here.Written July 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Aaron Lee 李冰Xiamen, China2 contributionsXiamen University is one of the best universities in China, and its campus is known as the most beautiful in China. The ancient and aesthetic Jiageng architecture, the majestic Jiannan Auditorium, the beautiful Furong Lake, you can often see black swans. All the plants, trees and architecture are very nice and you can enjoy sitting by the lake. You can also see many kinds of wonderful student graffiti in the Furong Tunnel. However, the most important thing is that you have to make a reservation on your phone a few days in advance, otherwise you won't get in.Written May 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is HUGE and very diverse. There are huge areas well tended, but if you venture into the corners, you can find hidden treasures!
Tons of birds, and generally a relaxing environment. I would say this is MUST SEE, if you like nature or plants. (I hate that so many reviews say EVERYTHING is a must see, so I rarely say that!).Written April 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are many things to see and do along the route, including jogging and cycling tracks (bike rentals available), museums to visit, enjoy some of the architecture, dine at one of the many restaurants, enjoy drinks at the cafes, and more.Written October 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcin WSosnowiec, Poland76 contributionsThis garden is just at the exit from piano museum at Gulangyou. I suggest to see it. It is a composition of some paths walking down to small pond with colorful fish. This walk is just a few minutes so all exiting from museum should take it.Written December 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KingJohn_2014Hong Kong, China72 contributionsThis is the highlight of our trip to Gulangyu. the museum was great. It has many different pianos. Some very very old. But getting to the Island was a nightmare. The fog caused disruption to the ferry schedule. Basically, there is no schedule. Ten of thousands of people were queuing to get into ferry. no seats, pushing shouting.... very bad experience.Written April 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcin WSosnowiec, Poland76 contributionsThe museum is on Gulangyou island so to get there you must take a ferry from main Xiamen island. To the museum is leading a beautiful seawalking promenade built by the owner of the home to remember important date in life of his family. Inside we can see a big collection of pianos from various countries and times. Worth to see both for young and old :)Written December 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LeonhknyHong Kong, China19,668 contributionsThis is the highest point of Gulangyu and most come for a panorama of the historic island. Sunlight Rock is the place where Koxinga trained his navy to combat the Qing military. The temple around the hill is neat and impressive. In contrast to the crowded alleys on the island, this is like a refuge. Admission is 50 yuan.Written November 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- retiredhahaNew Jersey2,062 contributionsWe visited the mall on a weekday, which the medium size mall wasn’t crowded; the usual retailed shops, restaurants on top floor, the movie theater venue. Outside the square, you will see endless restaurants, coffee/tea shops with seatings lining along the square that caters to everyone. Nail salons/hair salons as well. Lunch hours came with crowd and it is vibrant, lively liked all of Chinese cities.Written November 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
