This is a great place to grab a bite to eat with friends. We had been in Barcelona for two days and this restaurant was recommended to us. I can tell you why, it is true local cuisine and the staff was so friendly. "Tina" was one of the waitresses and she made it so much fun, even though we didn't speak Spanish she was engaging and had fun with us.

I went with a friend to Barcelona for 5 days and we went twice to this wonderful place. You can have tapas ( oh my god, delicious) and wine (also very good). Regarding money you can balance from 30€ per person without felling that you missed anything.
We liked everything, the food, the atmosphere and the people. We recommend for sure!! 😀😀😀

Elsa y Fred is a lovely, friendly restaurant serving great food, with a selection of tapas and other plates; be sure to see the daily specials.
The small intimate space is just inside the Gothic Quarter / Old Town on the Arc de Triomf side and contains an eclectic mix of furnishings. It’s probably a good idea to reserve a table, but we were lucky with a walk in, albeit with a large table divided into two covers by a number of plant pots.

All the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was really nice. There was a good awareness of food allergies and specifically on the needs of a gluten free diner.

A really enjoyable meal in a nice setting.

some reviews, however the meals were average , May be the dishes would taste better if you have not forgotten adding some salt.

Our best evening meal in Barcelona. Went on the recommendation of friends and so glad we did. The octopus and steak were delicious. Friendly staff and all topped off with an apple crumble and complementary shot of the local version of Baileys. Highly recommend!
