Great Neck South High School was spectacular in building a solid foundation for college. The academics prepared me to succeed in my college courses. I learned to speak in public, share my opinions and support concepts in my written projects and presentations. It also allowed me to take AP classes that allowed me to receive credits for courses. The rich selection of classes in the high school also opened up my mind to explore different interests and fields which started a curiosity and boldness to seek out courses that not only build upon a future career but also special interests.
Honestly, just like other top public schools in the U.S., it can be very competitive and intensive. GNS is especially good for people who are into stem, but it also offers a variety of other great tracks for people in theater. The diversity at GNS can be confusing because more than half the school is Asian.
Nice school, I just wish the teachers would focus more on making the food better. Otherwise, could be a good environment.
