Eastbournian Society Appeal Administrator & Cross-Charity Liaison Officer 

Eastbourne College is looking to recruit a dedicated, versatile and efficient individual to join the Eastbournian Society team in a dual role that combines responsibilities at Eastbourne College and St Andrew’s Prep School, both part of the charity Eastbourne College Incorporated. This part-time position involves working two days a week at Eastbourne College focusing on administration connected to fundraising and the Blue Sky Bursaries Appeal. A third day will be spent working at St Andrew’s on the bursaries initiative and alumni related projects, including website management and  digital archiving.

Hours: Part-time, 3 days/week (22.5 hours) 9:00am – 5:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break). Total 7.5 hours per day

Contract: Fixed term 12 months

Location: 2 days at Eastbourne College, 1 day at St Andrew’s

Salary: £11.44 per hour

Office Administrator

St Andrew’s Prep is looking to employ an office administrator to provide support to the Office Manager and administration support to the school.

Previous administrative experience is essential and experience in an independent school would be advantageous.

Salary: £12.50 hourly

Hours of work: 25 – 30 hours weekly Monday – Friday, term time (34 weeks) and six additional weeks to be worked during school holidays. A total of 40 weeks to be worked per year. Flexible working patterns are available. Holiday working hours may differ.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Eastbourne College is looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)  to support the Head of Learning Enrichment (SENCo) in providing specialist support for pupils with identified learning needs. Working collaboratively with teachers, tutors and senior pastoral leaders, the HLTA will help raise standards

of achievement and help pupils develop their independence and self-confidence. Hand-in-hand with supporting pupils’ academic development, the HLTA will encourage their social development and emotional security.

There will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to bring their own skills and experience to bear in shaping the department’s strategy for development over the next few years.

Salary: £14.51 hourly (subject to uplift); £21,214 p.a.

Hours of Work: 40 hours weekly Monday to Friday, term time only.

Information Systems Technician (Maternity Cover- 1-year fixed term contract)

Eastbourne College require an Information Systems Technician to provide first and second line hardware and software maintenance / support for all ICT systems across two local sites for one year to cover maternity leave. The post-holders must have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office and networking.

The role will involve working shifts to cover the hours 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, plus a 1 in 4 Saturday morning and a 1 week in 4 out-of-hours on call duty. 

Salary: £29,309 per annum inclusive of on-call bonus.

Hours of Work: 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

40 hours per week to cover the support hours of 8am till 6pm Monday to Friday including a 1 in 4 rota working on-site Saturday mornings 8am to 12pm and 1 week in 4 out of hours on call.

RELIEF MATRON (NON-RESIDENTIAL)

Eastbourne College is seeking a Relief Matron to cover for the boarding house Matrons on their day off and to support the health and well-being of pupils as part of the pastoral team and in liaison with all College staff, pupils, and parents.

Applicants must have a genuine wish to look after pupils and assist in the domestic running of a boarding house. First aid experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

Salary: £16.80 per hour

Hours of Work: 2pm to 9.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only.

Post Graduate Sports Internship (Tennis)

Eastbourne College seeks to appoint a recent graduate to provide support to the provision of tennis at Eastbourne College from September 2024. The right person will have a marvellous opportunity to work in a stimulating environment where colleagues, pupils, resources and buildings all strengthen the process of teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be completing or have completed a sports related degree or possess a high level of expertise in tennis whilst completing a different degree. A tennis coaching qualification would be welcomed but not essential.

The successful candidates will be expected to contribute fully to boarding school life. Single accommodation and meals during term time is available.
