"I'm a confident, no-nonsense werewolf who screams of becoming a fashion designer. I'm fiercely protective of my friends and family, so don't even think about messing with my pack, especially my best ghoulfriend Draculaura and my kid sis Howleen." ~Clawdeen

Monster Background[]

Clawdeen Lucia Wolf is the teenage daughter of well respected werewolves Clawrk and Harriet Wolf. Clawdeen was born the middle child out of several siblings throughout the Monster High franchise. In fact, Clawdeen has a large family consisting of four generations of grandparents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Often her family will have large family reunions at their house, despite how small the house is. While she tends to be overwhelmed by the amount of siblings she has to the point of argument and frustration, Clawdeen has a close relationship with them and is fiercely loyal. She will defend and protect her family no matter what. Clawdeen's parents are highly respected werewolves of the community, being considered being one of the founders of an organization known as Society of United Monsters (Ghoulfriends), where they believe in Monster Equality. Her parents are also among the thirteen families that helped establish Monster High as a result (13-13 Anniversary).

In The Monster High book series much of Clawdeen's early life with her family is focused on blending in as "normal" among humans in order to protect themselves. During this time she goes by the name "Claudine" spelled in a way to disguise herself among the "normies". It isn't until the monster students of Merston (RAD AKA Regular Attribute Dodgers) reveal themselves that she is able to truly be herself along with the other monsters.

In the Monster High reboot Clawdeen is also in hiding due the The Great Monster Scare that sent majority of monsters who into hiding. When Draculaura and Frankie decide to open up a school, Clawdeen is one of the first they invite to come. This begins a new life for Clawdeen and her family. In the reboot, she lives with mostly brothers and a single mother. It is unknown what had become of her father.

Clawdeen's monster background appears to be based on several werewolf archetypes in fiction. Clawdeen and her family have shown various connections to various forms of werewolf literature such as the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood (where the wolf is often depicted as a werewolf), The Were-Wolf by Clemence Housman (one of the few novels depicting a seductive female werewolf), The Wolf Leader by Alexander Dumas (a novel that portrays a wolf that walks on hind legs), and even the story Dracula's Guest by Bram Stoker in which Dracula is able to shapeshift into a wolf. Films that may have also been an inspiration include Werewolf Of London (1935 Film) and/or The Wolf-Man (1941). Another major influence on Clawdeen's background could be from the loup-garou or Rougarou of American folk legend (also known as Rougarou among the Cajuns of New Orleans).

Personality[]

Clawdeen is talented, confident, and fiercely loyal to her friends and family. She is very family oriented and is always there to help her siblings out in a crisis. Sometimes Clawdeen can be a little too over protective of her siblings, mainly because she does not want to see any of them hurt in the end. Of course, Clawdeen is very much capable of being independent and sometimes prefers to have time to herself away from from others to think of new fashion-forward ideas. However, while she is always willing to help her family and friends (even to the point of resentment) she is not as quick to accept or ask for help from others.

Clawdeen is an aspiring fashion designer who is out to make a name for herself in the fashion world. Clawdeen has been involved in several fashion-focused projects throughout the franchise. She has a DIY Craft Vlog and also founded the Monster High Shoe Swap. Clawdeen has also worked with the biggest fashion name in Scaris, Moanatella Ghostier, as one of three chosen interns due to her creativity. She also hosted a fashion show in Scaris showcasing her designs. Clawdeen is also the fashion editor for the Gory Gazette school newspaper.

While Clawdeen's profile has stated she likes to flirt, Clawdeen is the least "boy-crazy" of her friends. In fact, Clawdeen has the least amount of experience when it comes to love and relationships which sometimes causes her to feel insecure. Clawdeen has also been shown as extremely athletic, performing in several athletic clubs including cheerleading, baseball, soccer, track and field, and even Skultimate Roller Maze. Her athletic and creative abilities are especially enhanced when there is a full moon. According to her friend Ghoulia Yelps, Clawdeen goes a bit "freaky" during a full moon. Sometimes this also occurs under other forms of direct light such as when she was performing at a talon (talent) show in an episode of the same name.

In the Monster High reboot (2015) Clawdeen's interests extend from fashion to beauty in general, where she aspires to open her own fashion salon where monsters can give complete make-overs for humans. She has a tendency to leap before she thinks things through, preferring to address things forwardly.

In the Monster High Japanese anime Clawdeen has a cool and sassy personality. She is a lot more romantic than in other installments and even falls in love with a human boy.

In the Monster High live action movie, Clawdeen is part human, part werewolf. This leads her to feel as if she must hide who she is from others in order to fit in. Nickelodeon's profile describes her this way: "When Clawdeen Wolf learned that she’s actually both human and werewolf, her world was turned upside-down. But, thanks to her new best friends, Draculaura, Frankie, and Deuce, Clawdeen is learning to embrace her identity with bravery and fiercely embrace her identity with style. Whatever challenges and adventures she and the boo crew face, Clawdeen can rely on her enhanced speed, strength, and acute sense of smell and sight to take down anything in her way. Clawdeen is more than just a powerful monster - she’s clever, inquisitive, and appreciates a good pun. Howl about that?!" Clawdeen is voiced by Gabrielle Nevaeh Greene.

Appearance[]

Clawdeen has brown hair typically all over her body, but she tends to do a deep wax of it except on her head. Her hairstyles can range from curly to straight depending. Clawdeen has often found herself having trouble with all of her fur, but she learns different ways to deal with it. She has yellow eyes, long fangs, and wolf-like ears with several piercings. Her signature colors range from purple, to pink, green, black, and yellow or gold. Her motifs tend to be animal prints, claw prints, and fangs. In the Japanese anime her style is described as "sexy", preferring mini skirts and fur. She tends to be seen often with a "dog-collar" type of choker necklace.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Clawrk Wolf-Clawdeen's father. In the Monster High book series he runs a bread & breakfast with his wife Harriet. In the Ghoulfriends book series he is a member of the Society Of United Monsters, which is an organization of people who stand for monster unity. In the Ghoulfriends book series he seems to have a more outspoken and impatient persona as displayed in his meeting with the united monsters. He may also be among one of the 13 original families to help establish the Monster High school considering his daughter was one of the students whose picture was featured during the 13-13 Ceremony as one of the 13. In the Monster High reboot, he is absent. The cause of this is uncertain.

Harriet Wolf-Clawdeen's mother. In the Monster High book series she runs a bed & breakfest with her husband Clawrk Wolf. In the Ghoulfriends book series she is a member of the Society Of United Monsters, along with her husband Clawrk. In the book Clawdeen and the Freak Fabulous Fashion Show, her mother is described as being very family oriented and is shown not to tolerate disrespect. In the reboot, Harriet is hired as the art teacher at the newly established Monster High school. In this version she is a single mother with many pups to take care of. In this version she makes a visual appearance in the series.

Clawdia Wolf- Clawdeen's eldest sister. She is patient, calm, and creative. She is studying in Londoom to become a Scream Writer (screen writer). She loves her family and is always there to give Clawdeen advice. She keeps in touch with them while overseas. In the Monster High book series, Clawdia is not the oldest nor is she mentioned as a sibling of Clawdeen's.

Clawd Wolf- Clawdeen's older brother. Clawd and Clawdeen are super close. Clawdeen is always there to protect him just like any other of her siblings. He is dating her best friend Draculaura throughout the first establishment. At first, Clawdeen is uncomfortable with this but eventually learns to accept their relationship. She often assists Clawd in his fashion choices. In the Monster High book series he is the oldest of all the siblings.

Howleen "Leena" Wolf- Clawdeen's younger sister. Howleen and Clawdeen tend to argue the most of the siblings due to the fact that Howleen is "Always in her stuff". Howleen often feels overshadowed by her sister Clawdeen and really just wants to be as cool as she is. She even has Clawdeen as listed as one of her BFF's (sometimes). In the Monster High book series she is the youngest of triplets.

Monster High Book Series: Aside from Clawd and Howleen, there are other mentioned siblings in the Monster High book series. Howlmilton (who is named Rocks as a cover name) is one of her siblings. He is described as being slow and "dumb as rocks", hence the name he was given, but he is the fastest athletically. It would appear that he is more of a jock than an intellectual. He is even on the track team and will remain as long as he maintains straight Ds. Clawdeen also has two other brothers whom make up a triplet set, including Howleen. One's name is Howldon (cover name Don) and the other's name is Howlston (cover name Howie). The youngest of all the siblings is Clawnor. His cover name is Nino based off of El Nino, due to his personality being described as "windy". He likes his "big-boy fur" and hates when make up is put on it to "scare him back to boldness".

Monster High (1st Installment): Clawdeen has several older siblings mentioned to be older than Clawdia in written media. She also has a younger brother that has been mentioned in the original webisodes.

Monster High (reboot Generation 2): Clawdeen is the oldest sister of several younger brothers, which according to the Howliday special there are about a Dozen of them just by counting. Only three of these siblings are named while Clawdeen uses the Mapalogue: Barker, Howley, and Clawris. She also has a little sister (besides Howleen) named Pawla and a baby sister named Weredith. It's unclear if Clawd is still her older brother, though he makes an appearance in the doll merchandise.

Clawdette- Clawdeen's little cousin who tends to cause a lot of mischief in the book Clawdeen and the Freaky Fashion Show. She especially tends to be fond of Clawdeen's fashion.

Grandwolf- Clawdeen's great-great-great grandmother who is also named Harriet like her mother is named in other media.

Friends[]

Draculaura- One of Clawdeen's best friend. Of all the Monster High cast, she has known Draculaura the longest. Clawdeen had known Draculaura since she herself was 11 years old. According to Draculaura's Figurine Diary, Clawdeen met Draculaura on a train where they shared a compartment with Clawdeen. Clawdeen was reading a fashion magazine, which made Draculaura notice and they ended up striking up a conversation about fashion. They eventually exchanged post addresses and according to Draculaura she knew they'd be "scarrific friends one day". Since then they had been seen as best friends throughout the Monster High universe.

In the Monster High reboot Clawdeen met Draculaura while Draculaura was looking for new recruits for her school. At first, Clawdeen was distrustful but eventually Clawdeen is convinced after seeing that she and Frankie are monster teenagers just like her.

Frankie Stein- Frankie and Clawdeen become friends in the New Ghoul @School TV special. Clawdeen and Draculaura both accept Frankie into the group on her first day of school. Soon they all become best friends.

Cleo De Nile- At first, Clawdeen wolf is tense toward Cleo due to her former relationship issues with Clawdeen's brother. Eventually, they get over their feelings against each other and even become friends after Clawdeen and the other ghouls assist Cleo in winning the Fearleading championship. While they are for the most part friends, Clawdeen sometimes finds herself annoyed by Cleo's demanding and self-centered personality.

Lagoona Blue- A casual friend of Clawdeen's. Like with all her friends, Lagoona tends to be the voice of reason in Clawdeen's life.

Ghoulia Yelps- A casual friend of Clawdeen's.

Jinafire Long- Jinafire and Clawdeen meet while interning in Scaris for big time fashion designer Moanatella Ghoastier.

There are also quite a few people that have Clawdeen listed as their best friends: Wydowna Spider, Garrott Du Roque, and Silvi Timberwolf (Reboot)

Pets[]

Crescent- Crescent is Clawdeen's pet kitten whom she describes as "a scary cute little kitten as fuzzy as I am". Crescent has stated in her profile that she is proud of Clawdeen and likes showing her off to her friends. She also states that Clawdeen is "almost as fierce and fuzzy" as she is.

Romance[]

Clawdeen has stated on her profile that her favorite activity is "Shopping and flirting with the boys". In the webisodes, she is seen dancing with boys on the dance floor. However, in the TV Special Ghouls Rule, Clawdeen is shown to be afraid to date because she had never done it before and was not confident of what to do.

Werecat Boy- Clawdeen dances with him in the TV special New Ghoul @ School.

Romulus- Clawdeen is seen dancing with him in Fright On! Romulus has known Clawdeen and her family a long time.

Thad- Thad is Draculaura's vampire cousin whom she encourages Clawdeen to go on a date with. Supposedly, he is one of those vampire that actually "sparkle in the light". At first, Clawdeen is apprehensive about meeting, but when she lays eyes on him she finds him very attractive and asks if he would like to dance.

Rayth- In the Welcome To Monster High TV special Rayth has a crush on Clawdeen and even attempts to compliment her artwork by calling it "sick". Her initial reaction was negative (mistaking his compliment for an insult) until Draculaura explains to her what Rayth meant. Rayth tries many ways to win her affections and eventually she returns those feelings.

Human Boy- In the Monster High Japanese anime Clawdeen falls in love with a human boy, even though she is a monster. She has daydreams of them going on picnics and going on a date at the beach, though his face is never revealed.

Deuce Gorgon-In the Monster High live action movie Clawdeen and Deuce have a crush on each other, with Deuce feeling as if he can feel most like himself around her.

Enemies[]

Van Hellscream- He becomes a guest at the school under the guise that he is in full support of monster unity at Monster High. The reality was, however, that he had heard about Mistress Bloodgood's expansion of the school to allow vampires of Belfry Prep and Crescent Moon High to attend the school together. Him, along with Bloodgood's assistant Crabgrass created a plot to take control, turning the real Bloodgood into stone and having Ms. Crabgrass transformed to look like Bloodgood. While his plot was vicious, he used subtle tactics to turn the werewolves against the vampires and manipulating Clawdeen's family to turn on the werewolves around them as well. Clawdeen and her friends decide to get the root of the problem and discover eventually that it was Van Hellscream and Crabgrass's plot all along to keep the school divided and so they expose the two.

Cleo De Nile- At first, Clawdeen and Cleo did not get along due to Cleo's tumultuous relationship with Clawdeen's brother. Believing Cleo broke her brother's heart, there had always been tension since then. When she realized Clawd was okay with everything, she got over it. However, every now and then Clawdeen and Cleo will rival and at times bicker. In the reboot, their relationship is not as intense but Clawdeen does find some of Cleo's antics annoying at times.

Moanatella Ghostier- Clawdeen was once one of three chosen girls to gain a chance at being Moanatella's official intern. At first, Clawdeen was excited about this opportunity due to Moanatella being one of her biggest idols. However, Moanatella not only attempted to change Clawdeen's fashion ideas while Clawdeen was working for her, but Moantella used Clawdeen and locked her in a cellar below Scaris to only make fashion ideas for her just as she did her former intern Garrott Du Roque. Eventually, with the help of her friends, Clawdeen was able to break free and invade Moanatella's fashion show. Their show was so well recieved that it made Moanatella fade from the spotlight, literally.

Howleen- Of all of Clawdeen's siblings she tends to bicker with Howleen the most. Most of the arguments tend to start when Howleen is seen wearing something that belongs to Clawdeen. There is a lot of sibling rivalry between the two Howleen has expressed that she feels as if she is a shadow behind her sister. So frustrated with this, she even makes a wish to the magic genie Gigi Grant to become popular. Of course, behind every wish she made the shadow (Djinni "Wisp" Grant) was manipulating her and eventually even led her to turn on Clawdeen.

Djinni "Wisp" Grant- Djinni Grant (known as Wisp in the 13 Wishes Tv Special) started off as a shadow of Gigi Grant. Throughout the 13 Wishes Special she became the biggest obstacle of Clawdeen and her sister Howleen, preying on Howleen's envy toward her sister Clawdeen. She and Howleen even trapped Clawdeen in Gigi's magic lamp.

Profiles[]

Clawdeen WolfEdit

Profile art - Basic Clawdeen I

Parents: The Werewolf

Age: 15

Killer Style: I'm a fierce fashionista with a confident no-nonsense attitude. I'm also gorgeous, intimidating, and absolutely loyal to my friends.

Freaky Flaw: My hair is worthy of a shampoo commercial and that's just what grows on my legs. Plucking and shaving is definitely a full time job but that's a small price to pay for being scarily fabulous.

Pet: Crescent, a scary cute little kitten as fuzzy as I am.

Favorite Activity: Shopping and flirting with the boys!

Biggest Pet Peeve: I hate having so many of my brothers and sisters in school at the same time. They're annoying, embarrassing, and totally know how to push my buttons. Oh, and Cleo de Nile.

Favorite School Subject: Economics. One day I plan on having my own fashion empire and I want to know as much about business as I do about fashion.

Least Favorite School Subject: Gym. It's only because they won't let me participate in my platform wedges.

Favorite Color: Gold–it's the only thing Cleo de Nile and I can ever agree on.

Favorite Food: Steak…rare.

BFFs: Frankie Stein & Draculaura

Clawvenus Profile[]

Fusion: Clawdeen Wolf and Venus McFlytrap

Parents: Our roots stem from the Werewolf and the Plant Monster!

Age: Both of us are 15 and fabulous!

Killer Fused Style: Half of me is a fierce and confident fashionista. But the other half is no shrinking violet, either.

Freaky Fused Flaw: I sometimes sprout vines that can get tangled in my lustrously wolf-y leg hair, and my penchant for pollen is wreaking havoc on my monstrously sensitive nose. Achoo!

Favorite Activity: I love going to the Maul, because I'm going to be a fangtastic fashion entrepreneur someday. But Miss Ever-Green only wants to hike and camp outdoors. Sweating does howlfic things to my hair, but I don't mind a good workout.

Biggest Pet Peeve: Monsters who trash the environment. Clawdeen is pretty peeved about having so many siblings, but the Wolf family seems to respect the Earth. Or at least the Moon.

Favorite Food: I have my usual craving for a rare steak, but thanks to my newfound outdoorsy nature, my steak is getting a little... sunbroiled.
