      It's Complicated Reviews

It’s Complicated has an effortless appeal, giving you exactly what you want in a form that wouldn’t work without its stars.

It’s Complicated does what it says on the box – tells the story of a complicated, awkward and hilarious relationship, while also celebrating love and sex of an older generation, instead of leaving the passion to the under 25-year-olds.

Comedies about older romances have been done before, but Streep, Baldwin, and Martin form an exceptionally pleasant onscreen trio.

Streep is so utterly captivating onscreen that one easily forgets that we've seen this all before.

      [A] wickedly funny, goofy romp.

Take one predictable script, then add a few romantic-comedy cliches. Be smart enough to mix in two stars with more presence than most other actors, and you've got yourself a decent comedy whose many sins are forgivable anytime those stars are on-screen.

"It's Complicated" is worth watching for many reasons, but mostly for the scene where Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, and Meryl Streep get stoned and dance to The Beach Boys.

This daffy rom-com for over-40s has an intriguing question to ask. How could a worldly woman (Meryl Streep) become the secret mistress of her now-remarried ex-husband (Alec Baldwin)?

The movie won't take you to the top of the mountain or leave you with memories and references for discussion, but you won't be bored if you see it. Without compromising my standards, I can give this film an unqualified plus.

It's [writer/director Nancy Meyers'] typical, though smart, romantic comedy for a more mature audience. But, unlike Something's Gotta Give, there are no Oprah-like a-ha moments, which made it really quite unspecial and fall sorta flat.

In this insanely privileged world, there isn't much for the rich white folks to do except carry on like their pubic hair is on fire.

Pointlessly conveys throughout how important sex is in a relationship.

The only thing complicated about Nancy Meyers' latest rom-com is its depiction of familial relationships. Why do Meryl Streep's adult children keep on cuddling and squeezing one another?

Alec Baldwin does the near impossible: he steals a Meryl Streep film from Meryl Streep.

While it may be complicated for the characters, it's a simple formula for light movie entertainment.

A charming cast of veteran pros are at the top of their comic game.

Yes, there still are movies made for grown-ups in Hollywood, few and far between they may be.
