Evidence to Practice: Management of Oxygen in Preterm Infants
Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 12:00-1:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Oxygen therapy is critical to the survival of sick preterm newborns. Although lifesaving, oxygen therapy can contribute to serious problems, including retinopathy of prematurity and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Our attempts to find the “right” amount of oxygen to administer in the delivery room and while in intensive care are imperfect and leave us with many unanswered questions.
We will examine evidence based practices that maximize the benefits of oxygen administration while minimizing potential harms in a variety of care environments, including low-resourced settings.
Faculty: Roger F. Soll, MD; Danielle Ehret, MD, MPH; Elizabeth Foglia, MD, MSCE
