I'd challenge the notion of Dave being a woke comic through and through. He has a strong history of being vocal on black issues, but watch Chappelle's Show and pay attention to his portrayal of Asians, LGBT, women, or people from Muslim countries and you'll find it to be among the typical status quo reinforcing shit you'd expect from the glorious Dubya era 2000s.

I feel the same. Before COVID I was a Super fan. I had bought tickets to see him and Joe Rogan. Money I had saved for a while because I'm one of the poors. Then Covid hit. The show ended up completely cancelled (New Orleans) I had absolute Hell getting my refund but also after the last 2 years of seeing what kind of people they both really are I would say I'm glad the show was cancelled. I'm glad I got a refund. And I will never ever spend another dollar to see either of them. I listened to Rogan's podcast before then and bought products. I won't ever spend a dime on either of them now. I have lost a lot of Respect for Chappelle now. I think money just corrupts the fuck out of most people. Even when they used to be down.

I love Dave Chappelle. I watched every media of his that is out there from readily available comedy specials to obscure interviews that I had to dig up from some shady website. I was charmed and invigorated by what he said. Someone to be so smart, eloquent, and so funny at the same time was amazing to watch. Watching his standups were more like watching a professor talk instead of a comedian. But over the past couple of years he has lost his touch from reality. Almost feels like that the reason he left Hollywood has now been undone. Mocking his fans for booing a billionaire, the very same fans who supported him when these billionaires didn't want to be associated by him. Now everything he does seems like a reaction to the left. Whether it makes sense or not, whether he wants to do it himself or not. He'd just do anything that the left doesn't want. A man who observed the dance of the pawns before has now become the pawn himself. Sad to watch.

I came to the conclusion that I’m just not in his audience anymore. He use to make comedy for me but not anymore. Now it seems like he’s selling tickets to his name more than anything else. And, as long as he has an audience that won’t abandon him because they care more about “triggering the libs” than a well crafted joke he’ll never get his voice back because what he does now is easy.
