Shot, scored, and broadcast live from Bastille Opera, this poetically meta marvel is a poignant miniature of memory, fantasy, and loss.
Apart from its excellent narrative, it's quite a big shock to realize this was a live performance. This is something else. An excellent use of performing arts and cinematography.

Dass das Ganze noch live im Bastille-Opernhaus gespielt, aufgenommen und gesendet wurde, zeigt mir wieder wie fantasievoll die Medien Film und Theater einfach sein können.

Esto fue hermoso y triste y lo amé de principio a fin ❤
Estoy probando mubi y decidí ver un corto mientras merendaba, me llamó la atención este y el tema de la historia me hizo acordar a Eterno resplandor pero con un enfoque más optimista. Un consultorio donde permiten a las parejas que se separan despedirse de forma peliculera para llevarse un recuerdo hermoso sobre la ruptura en vez de un trago amargo. Tal como dice el doctor Turrel, ellos curan corazones rotos.
La historia que presenciamos es la de un tipo que perdió a su novia y quiere estar presente en los últimos momentos de su vida. Es precioso y conmovedor meternos en su historia y terminé llorando como una naba al final.

I have mixed feelings about long takes/single take films, but certainly there is an undeniable level of skill and preparation and so on required for them. I couldn't see any hidden edits here either, which was even more impressive. And then the credits came to an end and I found out that this was broadcast live, and. Well. What an achievement. The camera doesn't just swoop around from moment to moment, there is obvious care put into the staging and shot compositions. They incorporate memories and location changes without ever breaking the flow of the film. The concept itself is intriguing and won me over with its wonderful execution. Adieu Bohème is a beautiful and tender and unexpected short that packs a lot of emotion into a mere 25 minutes. Definitely worth a watch if you're feeling sentimental
Adieu Bohème is a gem. Totally unexpected, pretty well put together and with its short running time, manages to entertain and elevate certain emotional aspects of love, lost and found.
