The Hotel Pantheon is located in an elegant eighteenth-century building in the heart of Rome, just a short walk from the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, in peaceful surroundings, characteristic of an old pedestrian street. The interior of this small but luxurious Rome hotel is well-cared for down to the finest detail, embellished with special, unique details such as the Liberty-style staircase in wrought iron, the wooden-clad walls, the ceilings with old wooden beams, the Roman terracotta floors, the artistic windows and the trompe-l'oeils decorations on the hall walls. The breakfast room is a charming place, thanks to the light of the Carrara marble and the dome ceiling painted with sky-colored trompe-l'oeil. Intimate and friendly, the Hotel Pantheon offers a relaxing stay for its guests, also thinking of their well-being with their range of high quality, personalized services such as ticket booking for shows and exhibitions, guided tours of Rome and the surrounding area, suggestions on itineraries and places that must be seen and the plentiful hot or cold buffet breakfast.

The pantheon is literally several steps from this hotel. Awesome location! Just to let you know, because of this awesome location, you will have to pay around €10 in cash per day extra due to Pantheon tax. Hotel Pantheon must have some very excellent soundproofing because our room was not very loud even with the horde of tourists around.

The breakfast is actually very good. Standard eggs and proteins along with fresh juice and fresh fruit. There's also coffee and milk. The best part are the pastries which are fresh and delicious.

Our room is located on the fourth floor. The elevator went to either the third or fourth floor but then there's also a small flight of stairs to walk up. Luckily we are young and healthy to lug our luggage up. Definitely not ADA compliant, but apparently, few hotels in Rome are designed with handicapped people in mind.

Room was a nice size with strong air conditioning that worked well against the hot, humid summer weather.

Our shower took a little getting used to. Each of us screamed when the cold water hit us while we were trying to figure out how to work the shower knobs for the first time…at least this is a hilarious memory.

Robert, who said that he has worked in Hotel Pantheon for more than 15 years, was excellent at explaining the Hotel location with a map to show us where the major monuments/museums were located along with some general information about the hotel.

I was staying very near to this hotel. I am a smoker and the Pantheon hotel had door staff. There were two ashtrays on their outside wall over the pavement. I used one to put out my cigarette. The doorman on shift came to me and told me I couldn't use the ashtray, it was for their customers only and I wasn't to use it. I told him I wouldn't do it again. As a first impression of this hotel it was unneccesarily officious and definitely unwelcoming. The front-of-house staff have a very important job when it comes to impressing visitors and this man was very unwelcoming. I felt like saying, "Would you prefer that I put it out on the street and made your hotel look untidy?" I didn't. They did have a pleasant doorman. His name was Brendan and he chatted with me and told me that they had a roof balcony with lovely views which anyone could use. My friend and I did so and, indeed, it was lovely. Because of his pleasant manner we tried the roof garden but I would never stay in this hotel because of the officious and unfriendly doorman. I'd guess he was a snob from this attitude.Who knows? Pleasantness costs nothing and often makes gains.
If it is hotel policy to tell the door staff to tell people off if they use the ashtrays then they should reconsider as they're not giving a good impression of the hotel. Even though I had now become a customer I felt uncomfortable to use their ashtrays.

This hotel is lovely. The room was clean & the bed firm & comfortable. The decoration was next level with frescoes on the walls & ornate headboards.

The breakfast was nice & typical of Europe but where the hotel does disappoint is the WiFi. It was extremely slow & kept dropping every couple of minutes which made it difficult to stay in touch with my children during my visit.

Other than it was lovely & location is great to access most of the tourist attractions in Rome by foot. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel had overbooked to their own admission with no apology to us and no prior email or phone call. Read through the reviews - this is apparently a VERY common problem. We were told quote “it’s impossible” over and over again when we asked a) could you not have emailed us b) will you be refunding the price difference and c) may we please speak to a manager. We arrived at 9pm at night to “we do not have a quad room available, we will give you a triple”. Refused us a refund of the price difference between the quad and the triple room we ended up with.

Noise from outside was horrendous. Read through other reviews and this is also a standout comment. However to the degree is not emphasised! Do not get room 201. None of us slept as was right over the top of a restaurant. You could hear the exact conversation of the people outside. Building work commenced early the next morning on scaffolding next to our window. Staff were rude, so much so the porter apologised on their behalf and was horrified and embarrassed. Poor form to speak Italian complaining about us (fascinating what people say when they think you don’t understand). Our triple room that we did not even reserve was not even even ready at 9pm at night so had to wait another hour for it to be made available. Very challenging with a 3 and 4 year old!

Room was dirty. Dusting had not been done in cabinets or over the bed. Black hairs in the sink and bath that I had to remove and clean myself. Breakfast was always I stocked. No eggs, no bread, bag empty in pancake machine. Every customer in the breakfast room sitting with empty plates wondering what on earth is going on in the kitchen. I think from the degree of overbooking, limited housecleaning and no breakfast budget issues must be rife! Overall a horrible horrible experience. Location great but let’s be honest, Rome is a walking city so walking 5-10 mins to an attraction rather than 1min isn’t really an issue. Overall avoid at all costs!

Not our favorite place. It’s extremely old. When we first arrived, there was garbage in the bathroom and used shampoo and soap in the shower. The bed was pretty hard, though not the hardest bed we experienced in Italy. The room was strange. We had to ride an elevator to the third floor, then go up a set of stairs, walk through 2 doorways, with lips to trip on, then down a steep marble curved staircase to get to the room. Inside the room, you had to step up to get into the bathroom, which had a tiny vanity sink, a toilet that ran and ran, a very low pressure shower with a door that let all the water spray out, and there was a slight sewage smell in the bathroom. We could hear every sound our neighbor made, every conversation. You walked down a narrow hall to the bed area, which had just enough room to walk around the bed. The “closet” to hang your clothes was about 1 1/2 feet wide and about 3 feet tall so you could only hang a few shirts. The sheets were absolutely threadbare, it felt like a pauper’s bed. The headboard had a trim that stuck out that we kept smacking our heads on. The location of the hotel is right near the Pantheon and over an alley were we heard people eating dinner, laughing, yelling until after midnight, then tables and chairs moving around, dishes being cleaned up until 1 or 2. It was a rough couple nights. My husband asked if we could be moved, but they said it was an old hotel and that’s just the way things are. Other than that 1 middle-of-the-night desk attendant that pretty much blew off my husband, all the other desk staff were really kind and helpful, making sure we had a breakfast bag for both of our very early morning plans. I saw other great reviews, so maybe it was just our weird room, but I would never stay here again.

The staff at the Hotel was very helpful and polite. The rooms are kinda small but very nice. If you want the comforts of a large hotel chain this is not for you. But if you want a real authentic feel of Rome this place is great. Nestled deep in the heart of some of the oldest parts of Rome you exit the Hotel and your first left is one of Rome’s oldest and most preserved buildings, the Pantheon. You can walk to the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, and countless local restaurants and shops in 10 to 20 minutes depending on pace. This allows you to truly enjoy the city and keeps transportation costs low. I certainly would not want to rent a car here, crazy.

Hotel Pantheon would be an incredible honeymoon or anniversary destination. Very romantic at night in the area and gelato is available right around the corner.

Only downsides: (and reason for 4 & not 5 stars)
Because of its location the night life can be loud if you have an ally facing window, which we did. And the morning dumpster area pickup could be a bit startling. That and the king size bed and pillows where a bit firm for my taste.

Lastly, I wanted leave on a positive note. The breakfast was amazing. The best and freshest spread I’ve seen in a breakfast that was included in the stay. See pics.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, and is clean and comfortable. However, the room for four people is very small and cramped, the air con is not powerful enough to cool the room, and the breakfast is shocking - items (bread, etc.) are not restocked unless you ask and the lady is incredibly rude. Would not stay again.

Hotel was extremely hot and uncomfortable despite the air conditioner running constantly. Location was loud outside the windows throughout the night and early in the morning. Beds were the absolute worst that we stayed on in Italy. On the morning we were leaving we accidentally left the key at a cafe. The hotel worker asked us to search for it instead of just allowing us to enter the room to collect the luggage and pay for the missing key. This caused one of my family members to get lost in rome searching for the key and forced us to have the cab driver wait over 30 minutes. This delay almost caused us to miss our flight. The only positive of this hotel is it’s location but beware that the touristy spot is full of grifters who will harass you as you walk near the hotel.

This hotel is in an absolutely prime location if you are planning to walk to the major sights in Rome. There are not many places where you can walk right out your door and enjoy a spritz with a view of the Pantheon. Our suite was extremely large and easily accommodated our party of five. For the location, we were amazed at how quiet the room was and we all slept well – even the convertible sleeping chairs on the second floor were quite comfortable. A small fridge/safe were available. A Coop (grocery) is just a block away to pick up anything you need. Communication with the hotel ahead of our arrival was very responsive and they arranged transportation for us to the airport. We had breakfast in their breakfast room the first morning, but I would recommend the coffee shop (La Casa del Caffe Tazza d’Oro) next door for a delicious cappuccino and pastry to begin your day.

What a lovely hotel. Staff really pleasant, and the room was great. We were facing the back of the hotel but it was so peaceful. Breakfast was great - with loads of choice from fruit, pastries, bacon, eggs and sausages.

The location of the hotel was awesome - only a 20 second walk from the Pantheon. We just wandered the streets and purposely got lost in the back streets of Rome. The hotel is central to all the main tourist hotspots and if you feel energetic you will walk miles.

Thanks for the welcome and the hospitality.
