Detailed Reviews
My wife and I along with another couple who are our best friends spent three days at the Island Resort and Casino. Our rooms were excellent. The golf course was very nice and challenging and the casino was large, bright, clean and had a good variety of games available. However, we had six meals at "in house" restaurants over the three days; 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners. The lunches were very good. We had "build your own burgers" at the casino bar. The burgers, fries and onion rings were excellent. However, we had breakfast in two different restaurants and dinner in two different restaurants. The food was very mediocre, the service spotty and the servers and employees were very indifferent to our needs and wants. They were not overly friendly and willingly accepted mediocrity in the service and quality of food. We will not return to this facility again.

The casino's main floor absolutely reeks of stale smoke. There's no filtering it. For someone with asthma, it's a nightmare. I can barely breathe. I wouldnt be here if it wasn't for a family wedding. The smell carries up to through the elevator, which has no air conditioning. Sucks for anyone who gets stuck in the elevators there. The smell of smoke travels down hallways where rooms are and goes into rooms through the 1/2" crack on the door. Yay, my stuff all stinks now. Thanks. The pool is unclean, as well as the hot tub. You can see the dirt sitting in the bottom of both. The fitness center... that's a joke. There's three pieces of equipment. The gambling machines, mostly taken up. Don't bother booking a block of rooms for weddings, they'll split the group between the two buildings on different floors even though a block of rooms was booked for the party. The workers are pretty rude. When checking in, they'll move you around without your permission away from others in your group. You'll constantly see staff standing around talking to one another, rather than helping a guest. Overall, this place sucks, workers are lazy, and it stinks worse than Vegas casinos. I will never be returning.

The staff at this hotel and casino are wonderful. Always cheerful and ready to help you out with anything. Rooms are nice and clean and at a reasonable rate. We try to come at least four times a year to this location.

Staying at this hotel is not a gamble. First rate all the way. Common areas are clean and bright. Room was super clean and fresh. Bathroom was spotless. Well stocked with towels and wash cloths. Bed was very, very comfortable with a pile of pillows. As with any casino property there is plenty of parking.

We spent two nights at the Island Casino. Our room was very spacious and quiet. Nice beds, clean sleeping and bathrooms, very friendly people. Our complaint is the quality and cost of the food and beverages. We tried all 3 of the restaurants and were very disappointed. It tasted like it was from a discount food store can. The prices for meals and drinks were pretty high, considering this is a Casino!

This is our favorite place to gamble. We look forward to this trip a couple times a year. The hotel is the best. I sleep so good in there beds. People complain about the pillows, but they have four pillows and you pick one for your comfort level. I never have a problem with them. We always have such a good time there. The servers in the restaurant are the best. They welcome you in and make you feel at home. If some people don't like this place that's there fault not the hotel. I guess you can't please every one. You must go there and enjoy!!!

I like to stay in Escanaba when the weather is warm so decided to stay here while my husband did business in Escanaba and Hancock seen as it was cold and snowy. The staff is actually very friendly and helpful. The winter package made it even tempting to gamble. Not a huge fan of smoke but it comes with the territory. Room rates were great and the food was better then average. I ate at 5 Bridges and the little pastry shop. Chelsea at 5 Bridges was helpful as was Cindy at the front desk. I felt everyone there gave you the midwest nice treatment. I went to the salon to see what services they had and the receptionist stayed on the phone so I left a little impatient with her. I would think it would be helpful to have menus with extentions for the dining options and a list of salon services as well in the rooms. Tonight they have a country and comedy concert and Valentine Dinner specials so looking forward to a nice end to my stay!

This is my second visit. It was a bus tour of 32 persons and we had fun. Buffet breakfast was included with $3,00 off dinner. The first night I enjoyed the Bass fish with lemon/dill and the second night I had the Yukon pot roast cooked in wine. Yes, the meat was tender and very tasty. Some of my friends enjoyed the tender ribs. There are 2 beds in each room. Towels are supplied in the pool room. Each day I enjoyed the Jacuzzi. So bring at least 1+ swimsuits. It is Las Vegas style with penny machines, One man sat next to me on the penny machines and won $1,000.000 Yep, one million dollars.

We were pleasantly surprised at this facility once we were checked into our room and were able to check out the place. With the exception of the front desk, everyone else we had contact with seemed to be extremely accommodating and more than happy to assist us with our requests and needs. The rooms afforded us plenty of space and were well maintained with the latest updates. The restaurants had good food and friendly service. The lounge provided a great oldies band for hours of enjoyable music. The casino offered a good selection of gaming choices. We didn’t leave with a suitcase full of money from our winnings, but we realistically didn’t have those expectations. I read some negative reviews about this resort, which gave myself some reservations of spending time here, however I was glad I didn’t take them to serious or I would of misses out on a very nice outing.

Hello Sarah! We do not allow pets at the hotel or resort. Thank your for your question.
Yes, and they said they may stay smoke free for the foreseeable future... also casino was smoke free when I visited
Sorry, I don't know
Escanaba MI, about 12 miles from casino.
Yes there are shuttles to most hotels in Escanaba. But call the hotel or casino and ask if the one you want to stay in is serviced. Friends stayed in the Comfort Inn Suites and shuttled. Another option is check for bus trips from your area to the Island and see if they have any openings. Buses usually book a large number (48 to 57) rooms and then try to sell the trips through web sites, senior newspapers or travel guides. Good luck you will enjoy the resort as it's one of the nicer ones in Michigan
