“Fast-paced and colorful, with hints of The Goldfinch and Malibu Rising, and more than one pitch-perfect love story—Lost and Found in Paris sparkles like the City of Light itself and will have you flipping the pages quickly as you’re drawn deeply into its mysterious world of art, intrigue, and redemption.” —Kristin Harmel, New York Times bestselling author of The Book of Lost Names

The ultimate escapist adventure in Paris, told with wit, style, and a touch of intrigue, by the popular and dynamic author of The Sweeney Sisters.

Joan Blakely had an unconventional childhood: the daughter of a globe-trotting supermodel and a world-famous artist. Her artist father died on 9/11, and Joan—an art historian by training—has spent more than a decade maintaining his legacy. Life in the art world is beginning to wear on her—and then one fateful afternoon her husband drops a bombshell: he’s fathered twins with another woman.

Furious but secretly pleased to have a reason to blow up her life, Joan impulsively decides to get out of town, booking a last-minute trip to Paris as an art courier: the person museums hire to fly valuable works of art to potential clients, discreetly stowed in their carry-on luggage. Sipping her champagne in business-class, she chats up her seatmate, Nate, a good-looking tech nerd who invites her to dinner in Paris. He doesn’t know she’s carrying drawings worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

But after a romantic dinner and an even more romantic night together, Joan wakes up next to her new lover to discover the drawings gone. Even more shocking is what’s been left in their place: a sketch from her father’s journals, which she thought had been lost when he died on 9/11, and a poem that reads like a treasure hunt.

With Nate as a sidekick, Joan will follow the clues all over Paris—from its grand cathedrals to the romantic bistros to the twisty side streets of Montmartre—hoping to recover the lost art, and her own sense of adventure. What she finds is even better than she’d expected.

What a wonderful story!
4 Stars
What a wonderful story!
What a great book! I really didn’t know what I was getting into with Lost and Found in Paris- I was thinking a lot of soul searching. There is some, but it’s mainly a mystery about stolen art! 🖼️Joan is an art historian raised by her famous artist father and supermodel mother. But her father was killed on 9/11 and Joan works to promote his work every after he’s gone. One day her husband announces he has a secret family (for 5 years!) and he moves out. Joan needs a change so she gets a job as an art courier to bring valuable art overseas. She meets Nate, her seat mate and decides to try out single life with this handsome man. They have s great night together, but the next day her important art is missing and in its place are sketches from her father that was thought to be lost the day he died. There’s also a poem that kicks off this scavenger hunt. This was such a fun read! And I definitely didn’t see the multiple twists coming. I thought it was going to be a lot of finding yourself after tragedy and heartbreak and there was some, but it’s also watching Joan put herself back together. It was wonderfully written and would make an incredible movie.

What a fun romp through Paris with constant action and insight. Loved the plot and the ending. One of the books that ended where it should.

This book has been in my queue for quite some time. Once I got started it was hard to put down. A little mystery, larceny, love and strong women. The best of everything.

I loved her first two books so looked forward to this one. First of all, terrible editing, missing prepositions and a homophobe (had to look this up). But the plot was ridiculous and I did not like the characters, except for Nate. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

The story was full of art, descriptions of towns, countries, great food and crazy personalities and I hated to stop reading to eat meals! Loved it!!!

I enjoyed “Lost and Found in Paris” very much. The story line was rather unusual and interesting. Loan Dolan has a nice way of describing the settings, characters and those supporting the maze through which the reader travels.
Although totally differ from her novel, “Helen of Pasadena”, her style of writing gave me similar enjoyment.
I’d recommend this to people who prefer their mysteries without gore and violence. It was a good read that made me want to find out what’s next and how it would resolve without keeping me over charged and sleepless.

I liked the story line, the mother-daughter relationship!

Many of the main characters had “big personalities with big egos”!
The main character was interesting!
I loved reading about Paris, it made me think back to a visit there.

You would never guess the twists and turns of this story. It was fun, surprising, and satisfying. I think I would have named the book as the author said, Joan of Art. It was a fascinating ride.
