Mittelmäßiges Album vom Who-Shouter. Gesanglich zwar richtig gut, was aber nichts nützt, wenn die Songs selbst nur Mittelmaß sind. Zudem ist es eher eine ruhige Scheibe.

This really feels like the album was recorded in the 1980s - in the days where they like to bang on drums and other electronics instead of actual drumming.
When i first looked at the title of the album, I thought it was a compilation of soundtrack music when it didn't seem to be.

This, like most of Roger Daltrey's (founder and lead vocalist of The Who) solo records, gets a bum rap. But I like it. I'm biased, since I love Daltrey and think just about everything he does is great, but I would like this album even if I wasn't such a fan. I like the songs. Hearts of Fire and The Heart Has Its Reasons are two that that I especially like. Daltrey's voice is legendary (a four-octave range) and he's in great form here. No primal screams, just honest to goodness pure vocal talent.

８７年作、この作品の存在を知ったのはりリースから２０年経った２００５年、当時ＷＨＯを聞きまくっていた自分がまったくこの作品の存在に気づかなかったのは不思議だ。内容はイッツハードや顔がダンスよりも、格段に良いと思う。８０年代のＷＨＯの理想の形がここに凝縮されているといってもいいくらい曲がいい。ロジャーもきっと売れると確信したはずだが結果は惨敗、原因は宣伝不足か？ロジャーがこの結果に失望してアルバム製作をしなくなったのがわかる気がする。最後の曲以外は捨て曲なし、エモーショナルな佳曲が並ぶ、キラーカットはラスバラードの提供曲である1曲目で、当時絶頂期だったラスバラードらしさのでた佳曲だと思う。誰かこのアルバムをもういちど日のあたるところに持ってきて、アピールしてもらえなういでしょうか？あまりにもロジャーがかわいそうだ。

The most under rated Roger Daltrey album ever.Hearts of Fire and Lover's Storm are true Daltrey classics,delivered with passion,power and emotion.Take Me Home and Alone in the Night descibe feelings of solitude that everyone can relate to at some time in their life;but sung in a way that is optimistic and gives hope that everything will come good in the end.Miracle of Love and Ready for Love continue on a similar theme,while When the Thunder Comes and The Price of Love remind us all of the turbulent and fragile nature of relationships.Every track on the album is worthy of mention,but better still - go and buy a copy ! A must for all Roger Daltrey fans and a reminder of why he was chosen to play McVicar and Tommy !

Though UNDER A RAGING MOON is the most lauded of Roger Daltrey's solo work, this is my favorite of his solo releases. The songs are power pop/rock exhibiting Daltrey's trademark fire-and-ice vocals. If you're a fan of Daltrey the singer - and not just a WHO fan collecting sound-alikes to WHO material - this is the one for you. If you're a WHO'S NEXT fan and you find yourself paying more attention to BARGAIN, PURE AND EASY And GETTING IN TUNE than the single-releases, this is the one for you. It showcses Daltrey's vocals over background pyrotechnics, though the production isn't slack at all. On the negative side, there is one problem with the CD - the edge is missing. Each song blends so smoothly into the next there is something disquieting about it. Like there's something wrong with perfection.
