Temple is a great school academically, but if you like to party and go out North Philadelphia might not be the place for you. Temple has great career outreach which is what people come to college for, but since it’s not a big athletics school, the weather, and the location it’s not the most socially fun school.
The university is what you make of it. Plenty of people placed in great jobs and graduate school afterwards. Unfortunately, North Philly is not a safe place to be in and there were constant muggings, shootings, break-ins, and other crimes on and around campus. The resources are pretty good (speaking as an electrical engineer), and there are some amazing professors. However, the administration itself is laughable and incompetent or unwilling to rectify the safety concerns.
Many opportunities if you reach out and many people to reach out if you need help and ambler temple is fun nice place to study
I graduated in 2015, so I know a lot has changed, but it was a great campus with a lot of effort on the overall college expeirnce, not just academics. I was in the Fox School of Business which was very proactive in ensuring students went on to be successful.
I have really enjoyed my time so far at Temple. Granted it may have its downsides but there are so many upsides to it and every school has there downsides. I love that it’s in the city and you can find everything that you need on campus. There’s so much to do in Philadelphia you just have to go out and find it. It’s a great place to become independent .
I had a great time at Temple as an undergrad and now with contining education I find myself returning
I enjoyed being an online student at the Fox School of Business. I am a senior and have lived in Philadelphia my whole life. The campus is beautiful and clean. Food trucks are delicious. All the professors I have encountered were amazing and very helpful. Going to miss it when I finish my last classes in Summer 1
At Temple University, every day is an adventure. Academically, Temple offers a diverse array of programs, each tailored to ignite passion and curiosity. Students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to tackle real-world challenges. Outside the classroom, Temple’s bustling campus provides endless opportunities for involvement. Temple’s location in the heart of Philadelphia adds another layer to the student experience. With iconic landmarks like Independence Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art just a stone’s throw away, students can easily explore the city’s rich history and cultural offerings. Lifelong friendships are easy to find in this kind of community.
I really like Temple! It’s honestly the best place that i’ve chosen out of my options. I really enjoy the classes and the opportunities that i’ve gotten to accomplish!
I have enjoyed it for the clubs, classes, professors and being in a city. However the safety, area, housing and food options could be improved. Temple students are awesome!
At my time at Temple University, I have experienced countless fun that I would not have other wise had the chance when in my small home town. we have access to the whole city and Temple provided discounted subway and train passes! This benefits both on-campus students and commuters in helping student branch out into the community at a cheaper cost. There is also a diverse club population so any student that comes to temple can find what they love surrounded by the people who are similar to them. There are also a ton of "student" days where free activities happen all around campus. I have participated in mini-golf, plate smashing, stuffed animal making, trivia, and more all for prizes to win! The only thing I would like to see change is that our buildings are not open 24/hours so if I want late night studying I need to go off campus or study at home. overall, this campus has brought me. my wife, my closest friends, and a huge networking opportunity for future professions.
Definitely a diverse and lively environment in a great city. Perfect if you're looking for an urban campus with a great sports scene. The good professors are great and really qualified. A lot of opportunities through clubs, internships, classes, and school funded programs. Campus is always patrolled and safe with a lot of safety measures in place too.
For the most part, Temple is okay. The students, professors, and staff are all friendly and willing to lend a helping hand if you need it. There are many amazing programs and clubs, and I have joined the Temple Robotics team myself. The tuition is affordable, and there are a myriad of scholarship opportunities. My only concerns are safety and academics. Since my stay, I have been receiving a couple of notifications about incidents that have been happening around campus( e.g. shootings). Until those issues are resolved my only advice is to only go out when you need to, though I am not trying to take away the joy of being at Temple. Lastly, concerning academics, this may not be a one-size-fits-all response but lecture halls could be more appealing as it can be challenging to get my answers, and it's a bit hard to focus as you are just listening and not doing any hands-on activities.
Temple University offers a vibrant and diverse environment that appeals to a wide range of individuals. One aspect that many people appreciate about Temple is its location in the heart of Philadelphia, a city known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and dynamic energy. The campus itself reflects this urban vibe, with its bustling atmosphere and easy access to all that the city has to offer. Additionally, Temple prides itself on its strong sense of community and inclusivity, welcoming students from all backgrounds and fostering a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Whether it's the array of academic programs, the passionate faculty, the numerous extracurricular opportunities, or simply the vibrant city life, there's something for everyone to love about Temple University. Overall I had a great experience at Temple University.
It really is what you make of it. I love school and so I've gotten really immersed into classes. That being said, the non-professor staff of the school can be a pain and you don't really want to wander off campus. But there's a septa stop right on campus if you want to journey into the city which is really great to explore center city or further south. Again, off-campus is a bit dangerous, however, when you're on campus, you're really in a different world and it feels very comfortable and safe, it's like it's own little bubble.
Overall temple university is an amazing school that offer city life and that's why I choose temple. There's so much life on campus , and I love it! Temple has been my home for 2 years and I cant wait for the rest of my two years.
Temple University is one of the best universities for my major, risk management. The teachers and staff are all helpful. As a Philadelphia native, I don't feel unsafe in the area unlike students from other places. Though, we have had some tradegies in the past, I think the school is good at letting student voices be heard.
Over all a great school , just a bit of security issues but I can’t complain .Housing not that bad , very diversed .
It was a mixed experience since I was learning before and during the pandemic. I like the student life and organizations, the diversity and community. I would like to see more awareness and focus on healthier lifestyles and creating friendships as connections instead of maintaining such a reliance on professionalism. In this way I think they could be more inclusive of those who don't easily fit into the professionalism standard but who still also have much to contribute.
My overall experience with Temple University was nothing short of amazing, from the campus food to the professors, to even enjoying my walks around the campus and going to the gym was all so much fun. I definitely would recommend any student to apply for Temple University.
