AAMU Volleyball Adds Williams to 2024 Class

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University head women's volleyball coach Dr. Brandon Reeves announced on Tuesday the addition of Alyssa Williams, a 6-foot-6 right-side hitter, to the Bulldog program.

"We are incredibly excited to have Alyssa joining our team! With her impressive 6-10 wingspan, Williams will undoubtedly be a formidable presence on defense. I am thrilled to contribute to her growth and witness the impact she will make on the future of our program," Reeves expressed.

Williams, originally from Corona, Calif., currently attends Centennial High School.

As a four-year letterwinner, Williams has achieved remarkable accomplishments, including a CIF State Appearance, CIF SS semifinalist, Offense Player of the Year, All-Academic Scholar, All-League selection, and two-time Most Valuable Player in 2023. Furthermore, Williams was recognized on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Phenom list. She also participated in the USA Girls Junior National Championships in 2024, finishing eighth in the country with the ForzaOne Volleyball Club.

Additionally, Williams showcased her skills at the prestigious Triple Crown Volleyball Tournament, competing against the top volleyball clubs nationwide. It is worth noting that Williams has a brother, Devin Williams, who plays basketball at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

"From the moment I set foot in the Alabama A&M gym, I knew it was the perfect place for me. The close-knit group of girls and the supportive coaching staff made me feel like part of a family. It became clear that this was the ideal fit for me," Williams shared.

With Williams's commitment, she becomes the third prospective Bulldog in the 2024 signing class, solidifying the team's future.
