The hottie of 90s, Sheeba has now turned into a theatre artist with a Punjabi play.
Titled Hello Darling, the play is centrally themed around confusion and raw humour, thus becoming a rib-tickler. However, it's luck that favouredSheeba, as the lead role was earlier offered to Upasana Singh (who plays the popular Bua from Comedy Nights With Kapil), and who could not lap it up owing to bulk date constraints.Though the launching of the play will happen in Mumbai this Diwali, after India, it will travel to countries with a strong Punjabi population. According to sources, while Sheeba will essay the character of a happy-go-lucky homemaker, VinduDara Singh will play her hubby on stage.
The director of the play is Yogesh, and the other actors include Goga Kapoor's daughter Payal and newcomers Rishi Khurana and Vibha. Speaking to us Vindu said, "I don't have a theatre background, but as we ended up rehearsing for it, the experience was great."

While the production house and director were being advised to come out with the particular play in Hindi, the idea was turned down. "Basically it was being done to retain the flavour," a source said adding, "Punjabi diaspora abroad will also associate better with it." We hear the team initially plans to have its shows across India and soon the team will have back-to-back performances in as many 10 other countries including USA, England, Australia, UAE etc.

When we asked Vindu why Upasana was replaced, he said, "A lot of time and dedication is needed for theatre. We could have got some popular actor but then remember there are no retakes on stage."
