Solos, an Amazon Original series, features a star-studded cast in a unique format. In each episode of the anthology series, the show explores what it means to be human in isolated moments in an uncertain future. Set at various points in the future, each story brings a sci-fi twist to the characters’ familiar human problems.
Each episode focuses on a different character, and most featured actors perform by themselves on camera, backed up by only a voice cast. Certain episodes also show multiple characters played by the same actor, allowing the cast to perform with only themselves.
With every episode taking place in a single, stationary setting, the performances take on a theatrical quality that showcases the talent of the cast. Solos relies upon many well-known performers to deliver its heartfelt meaning.
Anne Hathaway as Leah
Anne Hathaway plays Leah, a physicist trying to contact the future. Hathaway is a household name, known for portraying Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries, Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, Fantine in Les Miserables, and Andy in The Devil Wears Prada.
Anthony Mackie as Tom
Anthony Mackie plays Tom, a man meeting someone identical to him. Mackie is best known for his role as Sam Wilson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most recently in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, season 2 of Altered Carbon, and The Hurt Locker.
Helen Mirren as Peg
Helen Mirren plays Peg, a woman on a journey into space. The Academy Award-winning actress has a long resume of previous roles, including Queenie in the Fast & Furious franchise, Queen Elizabeth in The Queen, Victoria in RED, Mrs. Wilson in Gosford Park, and Queen Charlotte in The Madness of King George.
Uzo Aduba as Sasha
Uzo Aduba plays Sasha, who fears that her smart home assistant is manipulating her to leave her home years after a global event has driven everyone inside. Aduba previously appeared as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in Orange is the New Black, Shirley Chisholm in Mrs. America, and Bismuth in Steven Universe.
Constance Wu as Jenny
Constance Wu plays Jenny, a woman languishing in a waiting room after the worst day of her life. Wu is best known for playing Rachel Chu in Crazy Rich Asians, Jessica Huang in Fresh Off the Boat, Destiny in Hustlers, and Kathy in Eastsiders.
Nicole Beharie as Nera
Nicole Beharie plays Nera, a pregnant woman who delivers her unusual baby during a blizzard. Beharie previously portrayed Abbie Mills in Sleepy Hollow, Marianne in Shame, Rachel Robinson in 42, and Madeline Ryan in Little Fires Everywhere.
Morgan Freeman as Stuart
Morgan Freeman plays Stuart, the mysterious narrator of the series whose story unfolds in the final episode. Freeman won an Academy Award for his role as Eddie “Scrap-Iron” Dupris in Million Dollar Baby, and he has appeared in a great number of iconic roles including Nelson Mandela in Invictus, Red in The Shawshank Redemption, God in Bruce Almighty, Somerset in Se7en, Allan Trumbull in the Olympus Has Fallen series and Lucius Fox in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.
Dan Stevens as Otto
Dan Stevens plays Otto, who is searching for Stuart. Stevens is best known for playing Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey, David Haller in Legion, David in The Guest, and the Beast/the Prince in the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast.

Jack Quaid as Zen: Sasha’s smart home assistant. Quaid has also portrayed Hughie Campbell in The Boys, Brad Boimler in Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Marvel in the Hunger Games series.
Hannah Dunne as Rachel: Leah’s sister. She is best known for playing Lizzie Campbell in Mozart in the Jungle and a set designer in Marriage Story.
Dan Stevens as Tym: The artificial intelligence on Peg’s spacecraft. Stevens takes on this voice role in addition to playing Otto.
Chris Diamantopoulos as E-ternity Employee: An employee at the e-ternity facility. He is a prolific voice actor most noted for voicing Mickey Mouse. His voice could most recently be heard in Amazon's Invincible.
James Monroe Iglehart as E-ternity Employee: An employee at the e-ternity facility. Iglehart is best known for his work on Broadway, originating the role of the Genie in Aladdin and playing Lafayette/Jefferson in Hamilton.
McCarrie McCausland as Jacob: Nera’s son. He previously appeared as Young Marcel in The Originals and David in Army Wives.
