Seol Yoon-A (Hangul: 설윤아) better known as her stage name Sullyoon (Hangul: 설윤) is a South Korean singer under JYP Entertainment. She is the visual of the girl group NMIXX.
Early Life[]
Seol Yoona was born in Daejeon, South Korea on January 26th, 2004. She has a younger sister and brother. Even in her younger years, she was praised for her visuals. According to her friends, she is very hardworking and took school seriously. She was the student council president in elementary school and class president in high school. She attended Hanlim Multi Arts High School where she was classmates with Bae and Minji of Newjeans, graduating on February 9th, 2023.[3]
Sullyoon passed JYP, YG, and SM auditions, but chose to go to JYP.[4] She also passed auditions for The Black Label, Fantagio, and TS Entertainment. According to Sullyoon, when she was in the third grade of middle school she got noticed by a guest lecturer. The guest lecturer, who knew people in JYP Entertainment, arranged a private audition for her. In her audition, she performed MOMOLAND's 'Wonderful Love', Taeyeon's '11:11', and Ailee's 'Singing Got Better'. She passed the auditions and got signed to JYP Entertainment in 2020.[5] Sullyoon explained the reason why she chose JYP Entertainment over SM and YG was because of her appreciation and love for TWICE.[6]
Career[]
2021: Pre-debut[]
On September 2, 2021, Sullyoon was revealed as the fourth member of NMIXX through a cover of Sunmi's song "Full Moon".[7]
2022–present: Debut with NMIXX, Show! Music Core[]
Sullyoon officially debuted with NMIXX on February 22, 2022 with their first single album AD MARE.[8] She garnered a lot of attention from netizens for her looks and is often considered as one of 4th gen's top visuals.[9]
On April 15, 2023, Sullyoon became a new fixed MC for Show! Music Core, joining Jungwoo and Lee Know. She is still in this role as of May 2024.[10]
