I’m so excited to continue my education at this school, I’m so grateful for this amazing excitement and happiness being admitted to this school as brought me.
The opportunities that the U of O provides (in my personal experience within the CDS major) have prepared me for grad school next year and for a fulfilling career. Eugene is amazing and I’m excited to continue my education here for the next 2 years. My complaints would be consistent with any US university- unnecessarily high tuition and a general sense that they care way more about tuition than their student’s values and humanity. But the professors are great.
I love the University of Oregon and my experience here so far! Eugene is a small town but being right next to Springfield it feels like we have everything we could possibly need. I have never experienced any dangerous situations and feel very safe walking around, especially walking on campus. The food on campus is the best compared to any other campus!
It’s good and they really care about what you do and where you go after you leave and before you become and adult
This was my dream school and it became a reality. The quarter system is no joke. You have to keep up with the fast pace of classes. It’s a big University but very walkable and a lot of services.
I really love the beauty of the campus. The classes are fun, and no one class feels the same, they all have very different environments that spice it up and keep the learning fun.
Personally, I think that University of Oregon is a great school that will give you the traditional big school experience! Always other students out and about, and lots of events to attend!
"I had an above-average experience at UO. The campus offers a wide array of clubs, activities, sports, and student job opportunities, which contribute to a somewhat enjoyable campus life. Academically, I found the instruction to be of exceptional quality, with professors who are passionate and deeply committed to their subjects. However, there is noticeable lack of diversity, not only in terms of ethnicity but also in cultural, intellectual, and social perspectives. Unfortunately, individuals from minority backgrounds may encounter micro aggressions, such as being ignored or avoided. Nonetheless, the campus is beautiful, particularly during the Spring and early Fall seasons.
The University of Oregon has robust academic programs, good athletics and a fun atmosphere. The University of Oregon is a great college to attend.
My major problem with this University is having required courses for a given major or minor and only really offering one class a term. It can be really hard to get into a class you need, even if you enroll on your scheduled day to enroll, there is still a decently big change of not getting what you want. Another issue I have, that really isn't a big deal is for example having a B parking pass and being able to park in C as well. There is a lot of B parking and hardly any C, being able to park in both really sucks if you have a C pass because your options are so limited.
I really like the proximity to the natural world. The professors have all been really good and I appreciate the love that they clearly have about their given subjects. I'm not a huge fan of some parts of Eugene but overall, I am really glad that I chose to go to college here.
I am a nontraditional student of my view of what I like and then like is quite different than your average student. I have done 2 full terms abroad, and that was probably my best experience with the university.
The University of Oregon offers a lively campus, strong academic programs, and a beautiful Pacific Northwest setting, making it a solid choice for students seeking a well-rounded college experience.
I love the experience because Eugene is a great college environment and I have met people from many states and countries. I would like it to cost less but I know that will not happen.
During my time at the University of Oregon I have had an overall positive experience. I started off dreading being here since I am originally from California, so moving to a new state away from my family was difficult to adjust to. I also struggled to meet new people since my freshman year was completely online. I regret not living in the dorms since the majority of people I knew lived there during their first year, while I lived off campus in an apartment. I was sort of isolated from campus life which made me very depressed, but during my second year that all changed. I met one of my closest friends in a Zoom class which was peculiar to me since I usually met people face to face. We hung out for the first time when she invited me to her dorm, and her roommate was also there. We all started talking and really hit it off, which felt great considering I was feeling isolated from my peers while also living with someone I did not get along with. After that everything changed for the better
This was the quintessential college experience. Something for everyone if you know how to make the most of it. Sports were very central to the campus culture but you could opt out. Same for greek life.
I loved the community that UO provided throughout my years here! There are so many fun ways to get involved on campus, like Ducks After Dark (free movie screenings on campus) and university concerts. I've also loved all of my professors so much. Every History professor that I've had is super engaged with their students and go above and beyond to help you!
Attending UO for prerequisite coursework before entering master's. College of Education professors and staff are super friendly and helpful, and HEDCO clinical services provides many hands-on, learning opportunities for future clinicians.
I think that the University of Oregon is a beautiful place to be. The campus is absolutely beautiful and well taken care of.
Overall, University of Oregon is a beautiful, thriving campus. There is always something happening and I love how active the school is.
