I have lived in San Marcos for my entire life, and it's been pretty nice. There are so many places to eat nearby or activities to take part in. There is a slight question of safety when it comes to the youths, just because some of them can get pretty cocky. There are very few real incidents, though, so it's more of a wrong place wrong time situation. The weather, though, is pretty good and predictable year-round, nothing crazy, except for when it rains. The people here are pretty nice as well, very friendly and welcoming. There's also plenty of nature spots around town where you can go and just enjoy the sights and sounds, maybe do a bit of exploring.
I came to San Marcos as a full time college student not thinking anything beyond living here outside of school purposes. After being here for over 2 years now I don't think I will ever leave! San Marcos is a small town that is very family friendly with lots of activities. Although the nightlife could be improved there are still plenty of daytime activities. We are a 15 minutes drive from the beach, I mean what more could you ask for?
In San Marcos the people are very friendly, the stores are conveniently placed around the neighborhood the schools are good the teachers care about the children and their education. The night life here is nice we have a movie theater and a bowling alley. All in all I like San Marcos the city transportation is fast and reliable also
