Watched a VG+ on jacket and vinyl go at auction for over 2k recently. An original UK pressing in decent condition is not common at all. Copies of this pressimg are always overgraded.

I’m in the U.K. and have a pretty clean US copy, mine sounds great.
Maybe the U.K. sounds marginally better but I can’t imagine it would be night and day as I can hear everything in the mix and stereo field and all that bollocks.
Anyhow, why the duck would you want to pay stupid top dollar (unless you can afford £800 for a U.K. first press when a US one is way cheaper and still sounds boss.
Great album of strange psych folk melancholy
        One for the heads :p

Can anyone comment on the sound of this particular edition? I have an original US press, but Immediate LPs tend to have a lot to be desired in their sound (at least the US pressings).

Duncan Browne's first two albums, Give Me Take You and Duncan Browne deserve an immediate vinyl reissue, no pun intended. Both are tastefully done with elegance and charm. If you have every Nick Drake album, then consider picking these two titles up. I can't understand why no one has done a vinyl reissue of these albums. I'm sure that if Duncan Browne was compared more to Nick Drake, vinyl reissues would sell out in no time, and Mr. Browne would get the recognition he deserves for crafting these precious relatively undiscovered works of beauty. Oh, and pick up Metro too (with Duncan Browne), a completely different band and style of art rock from 1976. It's still available at a reasonable cost and is excellent!

is there any difference of note in sound quality between the US and UK pressings?

Duncan Browne's melancholy first album, Give Me Take You -- released on music impresario Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label in August of 1968 -- is one wonderfully tender album. Many who only discovered it well after its original release compare its dulcet introspective tone to Nick Drake's albums.

In what way is this "enhanced"?

Lovely record. Seen others mention comparisons to Nick Drake which I don't really get.
I can hear some Syd Barrett and Incredible String Band in there. Maybe 'Gift..' era Donovan at a stretch.
Mostly though the songs are unique and unusual with strange arrangements that take time to hook you in. 'Ninepence...' is a good example, odd melody with ghostly backing vocals and a heavy melancholy. 'Chloe...' follows a similar pattern with strange wooshing sounds and ghostly backing vocals. This music is so fragile that a breeze could blow it away.
