A3 track "Jeep Bonus" contains samples of "Cheryl Lynn - Got To Be Real" (1978).

On their first album, unassumingly titled The Album, Masters at Work show both their influences and their innovation. On the first half of the album, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez comes to the forefront with his more hip-hop oriented beats; then, on the second half, “Little” Louie Vega gives us the house stylings with which the Masters at Work name has come to be associated. Kenny “Dope” lays down the beats like no one else -- listen to how thick and juicy they are on “Blood Vibes” -- but their house numbers are the memorable ones here. “Can’t Stop the Rhythm,” “All That,” and “The Buff Dance” (as with most of their house tracks) are perfectly fine, but the showstopper is “I Can’t Get No Sleep” with India’s ecstatic vocals. It was a joy to hear then, and it’s a joy to hear now.
