Cristoph Waltz, two-time Oscar winner, is coming to Israel next week… for his Jewish daughter’s wedding.

Don’t be fooled by the role that won him the first of his two Best Supporting Actor Oscars, that of SS-Standartenführer Hans “I can think like a Jew” Landa in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds.”

Vienna-born Waltz used to be married to a Jewish psychiatrist and they have three kids, two girls and a boy. Their Orthodox son is in yeshiva here, studying to be a rabbi, and daughter Miriam is getting married in Jerusalem next week. Dad will be there, according to Channel 10’s “Good Evening with Guy Pines.”

Waltz, who just won his second Oscar as Dr. King Schultz in Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” has been to Israel before — in 2009 with Tarantino to promote “Basterds.”

Waltz is now remarried to a German, costume designer Judith Holste, and the couple is raising a young daughter in Berlin and LA.
