CLP's Distribution Box Beautification Project is set out to connect the community through art and innovation for a greener and sustainable future.
To enhance the engagement with the community, CLP has partnered with design students of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) under the Vocational Training Council and local artists this year to bring a touch of contemporary art depicting local landmarks, culture and green elements for selected distribution boxes.
Art tech is also applied in the design to enhance the interaction and engagement with audiences through IG filters.
The Community Power Journey for general public is also introduced in this Project. Through the appreciation of beautified distribution boxes and local landmarks, tour participants will be able to gain knowledge in electricity, energy conservation and local history and culture.
The project covers the 14 districts of CLP’s supply area in Kowloon, the New Territories, and the outlying islands. The beautified distribution boxes in each district can be found in the following map.
The Distribution Box Beautification Project combines art and technology by including an immersive gaming experience on IG that highlights local landmarks and green messages.
Members of the public can enjoy the IG game simply by scanning the QR codes on the sides of the beautified distribution boxes or to scan the code below directly.
Students and members of the public are welcome to join the Community Power Journey, a guided tour that enable participants to gain knowledge of electricity, energy saving, the history of different districts, and the relationship between electricity and our community.
Participants will have the opportunity to appreciate the beautified distribution boxes and landmarks in different districts, and at the same time to learn about local culture and history through chit-chat session with owner or staff of featured shops.
