As a New York City guy who has wanted to carry but couldnât until the decision, I believe that if we can finally defeat gun laws here, we can defeat them anywhere. New York was shelled and occupied by the British in 1776 and New Yorkers fought to win back their home. Donât call us traitors. Although you might not hear it loud, lots of us are on your side.
I found out my ancestors from New York moved to Canada after the revolution. How fucking disappointing.

Eh, besides intellectuals like Hamilton and being the first capital of the USA, I think the ideas of revolution were helping to wake Americans up while other areas of America which will go unnamed were busy protecting their export business. I like the cut of your gib good sir. New York City is the confusing, beautiful, overcrowded, diverse, and chaotic influx for the world. Guns scare the shit out of people. New Yorkers in Manhattan have access to a single gun range (shoutout to West Side Pistol and Gun Range) and one store (Beretta). There is very little proper gun education for these folks, and as a result they fear what they canât know. It wasnât until I got to shoot trap with my family and pastor down in Alabama that I began to change. People in nyc deserve to be safe and I hope with education and kind pro 2a out of staters we can swing the dial.
Sorry, but there is no way...just no way, NYC will ever acknowledge that the 2nd Amendment applies to everyone, everywhere. No amount of education will do it. It's going to have to be shoved down their throats.
As good as our national Constitution is..it has a major flaw. There is no enforcement mechanism for a SCOTUS ruling. President Jaskson was the first to expose this flaw when you said "The court made its ruling, now let them come and enforce it".
NYC city leaders and NY state Gov need to be arrested and charged for crimes against the Constitution. The trouble is...no agency in place that will do it. In theory, it's supposed to be the POTUS...but when you have a worthless corrupt idiot like Biden...who ALSO NEEDS TO BE ARRESTED....it just ain't gonna hapoen.

Yes they have crap opinions but gun rights have slowly been expanding and solidifying as they continue to be discussed In court. It's not the end of the world, and I think Washington would see how it's dumb to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
This is exactly what they want, though. They want a police state where the only people who are carrying guns legally are cops and the rest are criminals, leaving the law abiding with no choice but to be compliant to the state for their safety and security. That part that said that cops can search anyone who they THINK are carrying is especially ominous. Just another law that allows otherwise unlawful searches and arrests. So fucking dumb. Not to mention possible murders by police who will claim they THOUGHT the person was armed.
This is going to get people killed. If the police start stopping and frisking without probable cause or reasonable suspicion of a crime (and carrying won't meet that threshold) then the courts are going to come down on them hard and there is also going to be a serious public uproar with possibly violent protests.

At this point I'm convinced there is no court decision that can change NY, those guys are truly hopeless. The highest court in the United States more or less told these clowns to knock it off, and they continue to infringe and push harder than ever.

Just for my information, New York City is STILL not allowing other county New York permit holders to carry firearms in NYC? (Not just the locations and special law bullshit but actually not at all due to location of permit)

Unfortunately, in the US, the presumption of innocence principle is dead. In practice, the US justice system treats you as guilty until you are proven innocent and that's the way it has been for a long time. That's especially the case when it comes to self-defense. If you have to defend yourself or a third party with any kind of force, there's about a 90% chance you'll end up being arrested and charged with a crime. If you use a weapon to defend yourself, you can expect that charge to be attempted murder. New York and California are the absolute worst regarding your right to protect yourself. Illinois, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Maryland aren't far behind. If you don't have some kind of legal protection plans like USCCA, US Law Shield, Firearms Legal Protection, or something similar and you get arrested without one of those organizations, you can expect to spend six figures minimum out of pocket to attempt to clear your name.

Isnât that the point of the ârestricted locationsâ? It says all private property is restricted and you may not possess a firearm there unless given explicit permission.
