The book shares the appearance of Marcy's journal as seen in the series and is written, as such, in her style.
The hardback/hardcover edition of the book features a printed map of Amphibia on the inside of the book's dust jacket, drawn by Matt Braly.
The green, blue and magenta stars on the cover reference the calamity gems, in the same positions Marcy, Anne and Sasha were in when Anne first opened the Calamity Box.

Revelations and significants[]

This journal reveals what Marcy was doing when she first arrives in Amphibia, explaining her absence in the first season.
It is revealed Marcy's father is a strict man and she wasn't informed of her family's move until the last minute.
It's revealed Anne didn't take Marcy getting impaled by Andrias well, it affected her sleeping, and the whole time she was goofing off was an attempt to take her mind off it.
General Yunan's last name is revealed be Longclaw.
The Journal also reveals how Anne and Marcy first met.
The Thrift Store where Marcy found the Calamity Box had close at some time later leaving it unknown how the box ends up there.
Terri is revealed to be non-binary.
The Book reveals how Marcy and Joe Sparrow met.
Some of the characters and events from Marcy's theme song takeover are shown.
The book reveals how Marcy revealed the truth of stranding herself and her friends to Amphibia during a game of Flipwart as it was mentioned in "True Colors"
- King Aldrich was revealed to have played and beaten Andrias in Flipwart before Marcy had beaten him.
It is revealed that Sasha and Marcy's parents were not notified about their respective daughter's whereabouts until after the events of Frog-vasion.
The Journal feature an extended epilogue to "The Hardest Thing":
- Anne, Sasha, and Marcy were reunited with their families.
- Due to the loss of the Calamity Box and Anne no longer having her powers, the portal stop working, but Mr. X and Terri promise to get the portal working again one day.
- Marcy went through many doctors and therapists and has a white scar on her chest and her green blood.
- Terri still remained in contact with Anne 10 years later.
- The name of the webcomic that Marcy is working on his called "Amphibi-Anne".
- Marcy and her parents move to Hopkinton, Massachusetts, but she still remain in contact with Anne and Sasha.
- When Sasha and Marcy celebrate Anne's birthday with her ten years later, Anne receives a call from Terri who says they have exciting news and promises to share it with her and her friends the next day. This likely foreshadows Terri got the portal working again.
The Books also contains pictures of Sasha and Marcy's parents.
- Anne reveals Sasha's parents are divorced which was hinted at in "Froggy Little Christmas". Sasha's dad remarried, her mom has been a relationship with a man who has children of his own, and Sasha, according to Anne, is very private on her relationship with her parents.
