Admission to Ateneo de Manila University is open to qualified young individuals, regardless of nationality, creed, gender, residence, or financial capability.

Admission to Ateneo's college programs is determined by the applicant's fitness and preparation for undergraduate study; ability to contribute toward the enrichment of the Ateneo academic community; and potential to be of service to others.

The members of each first year batch are selected by the Committee on Admission and Aid, which bases decisions on the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET), past academic performance, recommendations of teachers, and information written down on the application form.

For the incoming batch of first year and transfer students for the 1st Semester of School Year 2024-2025, all applications will be submitted online.  Let us help you get started.

STEP 1

Preparation

Who can apply?

Depending on your school and graduation status, you will belong to a particular applicant type. This applicant type will determine your particular application pathway.

  • You are considered a first year college applicant if:

    • You are still in the last year of secondary education or;

    • You have graduated from secondary education and have not enrolled in a college / university or taken any college / university units / courses before and / or during the application and confirmation period

  • You are considered a transfer applicant if you have enrolled in a college/university and / or have already taken units / courses in college / university

Your pathway will also depend on where you are studying.

  • You are considered a local applicant if you are studying in, or graduated from, a school within the Philippines

  • You are considered a foreign applicant if you are studying in, or graduated from, a school abroad

General admission criteria

The Committee on Admission and Aid is responsible for selecting new students. It bases its decisions on the applicant’s past academic performance, the recommendations of teachers, their personal essay, and the information written down on the application form.


Step 2

Application & Testing

Take your time in filling out the application, including your Scholarship/Financial Aid Questionnaire. Carefully select your degree program choices. We encourage you to submit way ahead of the deadline, to avoid stress.

You will then take the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) at your scheduled date.

Scholarship Application

You may submit your application for scholarship once you have your Ateneo Application Number (AAN).) Kindly note that the Scholarship Application Form is submitted online. Please carefully read and meticulously follow the instructions.


Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET)

The Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) is a test requirement for admission.

The schedule varies depending on the application period calendar. Examinees can take the exam at Ateneo de Manila's main campus in Loyola Heights, Quezon City, or at testing centers outside Metro Manila.

Processing & Review

Admission to Ateneo de Manila University's college degree programs is determined by the applicant’s fitness and preparation for college, ability to contribute toward the enrichment of the undergraduate school community, and potential to be of service to others within the context of national development.

The Committee on Admission and Aid is responsible for selecting the new members of the student body. It bases its decisions principally on the applicant’s past academic performance, ACET test scores, the recommendations of teachers, essay, and on information written down on the application form.


Step 4

Admission

Results will be released directly to your registered email. You will get one of three decisions: accepted, waitlisted, or not accepted. Once you are offered a place in the incoming first year batch, you will be asked to confirm your slot. You will become an official student once you enroll for the first semester. Welcome to Ateneo!
