We booked the 2bedrooms apartment Kensington high street for3nights in booking.com. First of all, the apartment is very dirty and it was only cleaned in the moment that someone came to open the door for us. He just vacuum the floor when we got in. At that time, it was about 5.30pm which is later than the check-in time (4.00pm), the room is supposed to be ready. There are some food and debris left in the fridge. Shockingly some towels are still wet and it seems like they were just used on that day or haven’t washed yet. We come with our 2 children and the environment and cleanliness are not suitable for them. Apart from those dirtiness, the reason why I choose this apartment because it is mentioned on the booking.com that there is air conditioner in the apartment. Once I complained to the host of the apartment, she said she is already ordered and still wait for the delivery. As what we found out from what happened to the previous tenant, We decide to leave the apartment and struggle looking for a new place to stay. Without air conditioner, my children couldn’t stay in the apartment as the place is very noisy when we open the windows. It’s been 3days already, the host never reply WhatsApp or even answer the phone. We haven’t got the refund yet. Apart from that, we contact booking.com customer contact 3times, they said they could only refund me 52£. I paid 1179 in total. That’s very disappointing. Here is the address of the apartment “223A Kensington High Street

After changing rooms twice, No.1 stank of chemicals, No2 stank of cigarette smoke, we were allocated another room on the 5th floor, (after waiting 45mins at the desk) looked OK, didn’t smell, very cramped and tiny bathroom, but we’d live with that. Went to have a shower, bath filled up with dirty brown water because of a blocked drain, plug in sink didn’t work, we gave up and put up with it.
Later we discovered many guests had played musical rooms, some were airline staff who had also moved 3 times. So, use your money wisely, don’t stay here.

We had booked a table for late Sunday afternoon. As the music was very loud we asked if it could be turned down. The waiter said it was at the normal volume. When we said we'd have to leave the waiter stared at me and said to me curtly "Do what you want", then turned and walked away. I've never experienced such rudeness in any restaurant ever. We've been coming to the Ivy Kensington for many years but won't be setting foot in it again.

Perky Blenders without a doubt a total top off. Only advertise the smallest coffee size, which I am sure most people will assume, as I did, they are all about regular. They are not. £3.00 for a cappuccino the size of an Americano. Coffee not great either.

Kensington High Street is a good place to shop if you don't want the crowds of Oxford street. There are great places to eat like The Whole foods store and the produce is outstanding. You have the usual shops like Marks and Spencer's. It is close to Kensington gardens so you can enjoy a stroll through the gardens after you have done your shopping and had a meal. Hotel Choclat is a must visit if you like good chocolate that is a little different, you can also have a tasting and even sit and enjoy a hot chocolate on a cold day.

I like this street, starting from the high street kensington tube station, it's a nice & very chic station ... there is no plenty of shops there, but they are quiet to do your shopping in better way... after your shopping experience there go to kensington Gardens & palace for a quiet afternoon...

Maybe not as manic as Oxford Street or as posh as Sloane Square but a decent range of shops and food places it’s now got Tk Maxx and Whole foods the former welcome the later not really required as London has excellent supermarkets serving organic products but if you insist.

A leisurely stroll up one side and down the other will take you 45 minutes, but by the time you pop into a shop or two, stop for a drink, and wander round the Whole Foods market, better cross out a few hours in your diary.
Most of the big names along Oxford St. are here, but perhaps half the crowds, so a much more pleasant experience. Some interesting Art Deco and post-war architecture, too. If you are still looking for more shopping, Harrods and Harvey Nichols are only a short cab ride away.
High St Kensington tube station will set you down right in the middle of the action.

Was staying nearby next to the embassies and loved the short walk each morning to the tube station where at any moment of the day, I could pop in to M&S or Whole Foods for a satisfying bite. There is no other high street in London I’d rather be in. Safe, convenient and atmospheric. Thank you, Londoners for making Kensington so easy to love.

I am sorry but the Kensington area has lots of pubs and restaurants than may be available for your viewing. Perhaps a hotel in the area might give you a lead. Good luck and enjoy the viewing.

Hi, we’ve booked to stay in the holiday inn for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. We wanted to go for a meal somewhere and watch the fireworks, we don’t know London at all and we’re happy to get a cab but will it be too difficult to get back to the hotel afterwards? Any recommendations?

Hyde Park is north across from Kensington High Street. In the park are: Princess Diana's Memorial Fountain, the Italian Fountains, Peter Pan statue, Serpentine Lake and lots of walking paths, art galleries and cafes. Kensington Palace is located at the west end of Hyde Park, along with Kensington Gardens and Round Pond. Holland Park is also north of the Olympia Hilton. Great for walking/jogging. Along High Street are shops such as Hotel Chocolate, Whole Foods, M&S, TK Maxx, Top Shop, Zara, etc. There are also many dining choices such as Bill's, Wagamama's, Kensington Roof Gardens and Aubaine --- just to name a very few. (for crepes, go just a short ways up Kensington Church Street to My Old Dutch)
