Anne Anka Obituary

October 2, 1942 - March 29, 2017 Anne Alison Anka was born on October 2nd, 1942 in Alexandria, Egypt with her twin sister. After moving back to Europe in her teens, she was discovered by Paris Match Magazine. She soon moved to New York City to pursue modeling under the wing of Eileen Ford. After meeting singer, Paul Anka, in Puerto Rico in 1960, they married and resided in NYC. During her time there, she became involved in the art scene as a collector. She and Paul raised their family there for several years until they moved west over a decade later, settling in Carmel, California. They resided there until 1990. After moving to Los Angeles, she and Paul amicably divorced after 39 years of marriage. Her great loves were art, languages, and her grandchildren. She died on March 29th, at age 74, in Hollywood, California. She is survived by her five daughters, Alexandra, Amanda, Alicia, Anthea and Amelia. Donations in Anne's honor can be made to Tower Cancer Research Foundation.

Memories and Condolences
for Anne Anka

Not sure what to say?

Anne was such a beautiful and gracious lady and a pleasure to represent. She ate healthily, took care of her health and now I cannot believe I am still here. I just picked up the letter opener she gave me and decided to look at what I could learn about her whereabouts. So heartbreaking. To Paul and Anne's beautiful daughters - my sincere sympathies.

Met her in Paris when she modeled hairstyles. She had striking blue eyes. Later in 97 at her husband’s concert in Vegas I didn’t talk to her but she was such a beautiful lady. Sorry about your loss. My prayers are with you. With love She will live with you forever. Sorry for late entry.

Dear Paul and family Anne was a distant cousin of my dad. I think there were three brothers who came to the US from Lebanon. I know that when they came all three changed the spelling of the last name my great grandfather changed his to Zugibe. I'm saddened to hear of her passing would have really loved to have met her. She was beautiful. There is so much of our family history that has been lost because all the people who knew the history are gone including Anne. My father too is gone. My condolences to you and your family as they are part of my family to. God Bless and may she Rest In Peace.

I am rather saddened and dismayed to learn of
the death of my sweet friend and client Mrs. Anne
Anka. I have know Mrs. Anka for over 20years and
she was a very lovely loyal client of Porthault Linens, often visiting the store in New York whenever she visited. She had impeccable taste, and a fun sense of humor. She delighted in her family, often sharing photos of her Grandchildren whom she adored.
May she rest in Peace and I am grateful for the honor of having known her and sharing a little piece of her life, no matter how small, I do know that the beautiful vibrant Porthault
Prints and linens made her very Happy.
