RESULTS of Thurrock Museum's D-Day 80 Art Competition have been announced, after more than 150 entries were judged.

Chosen for their outstanding artworks, congratulations were:

Jessica, aged 6, from Stanford-le-Hope Primary School, who won the Historians' Award.

Naomi, aged 8, from St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, who won the Veterans' Award.

Lily, aged 12, from Ortu Gable Hall School, who won the Mayor's Award.

Their artworks, and all the other submissions, will feature in a D-Day Exhibition – part of Thurrock's D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations – at the Thameside Complex on Orsett Road, Grays from Saturday, 25 May to Thursday, 27 June.

A museum spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who entered the competition, paying their respects to the ingenuity and bravery of our troops, which ultimately led to victory in World War II.
