INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed harp and electronica duo FitkinWall, will be performing at The Haymarket on Tuesday, June 11.

The duo's highly-anticipated new show encompasses themes of loss, migration and longing.

Harpist Ruth Wall takes the audience on a journey through Gaelic song, pipe and fiddle tunes and shares the rich history of the Scottish Highlands – with particular focus on migration and the Highland Clearances.

The acclaimed musician grew up in the region, which heavily influences her art. Graham Fitkin, her partner, created fresh renditions of these for Wall's three harps – the Scottish lever harp, the medieval Gaelic wire harp (clàrsach), and the Renaissance bray harp.

Together, the duo merges ancient songs and modern technology, crafting a soundscape of dark, fragmented folksy tones moving into vibrant, quick-tempo music. The performance also showcases a specially commissioned light installation by artist, Peter Freeman.
