Recorded in the 40's for radio only, these sides show that Basies'band could absolutley rock! Jimmy Rushing only sings on a couple of tracks, but overall this is an excellent collection of unreleased songs. Good swinging' blues from Kansas City's best!

その当時、ビッグバンドジャズが最先端音楽であったことを、
生き生きとした演奏そのものから感じ取ることが出来ることだと思う。
音質の悪さは否めないが、それを十分に補って余りある、ほとばしるようなエネルギー、
スピード感、自信に満ち溢れた演奏など、全てに心を揺さぶられる。
