I enjoyed being a Carlsbad High School student. Every teacher and administrator provided me with the best support for applying and preparing for my upcoming senior year.
One of the better schools when it comes to more of a balance between academics and having a manageable amount of stress due to a regular pace of learning. Pretty solid overall when it comes to content and value of classes taught. Especially with courses such as Digital Music or Film Academy. Majority of the staff are kind and willing to show up. Diversity is what you would expect in a predominantly white area. However, school culture and experience with other students is obviously subjective. Overall CHS is solid itself.
In my experience Carlsbad Highschool has been great all of my teachers have been amazing and I have had a great time so far.
Carlsbad is pretty good for a public schools. The sports are great, some teachers are great and students there are good.
I had a great experience at Carlsbad High School all 4 years. Carlsbad High School has an amazing environment to make all student feel included with the wide expansion of electives, clubs, & sports they have to offer.
I loved CHS! They have a great school spirit and a friendly environment. I always felt ready for tests because of how my teachers prepared me.
Attending Carlsbad High School was the best decision for me as a student who had a choice between two high schools in the district. The students, teachers, and staff know when and how to have fun and show school spirit but they also value our education. I loved the classes I took throughout my time in high school and the teachers have made a huge impact on my love of learning.
My overall experience attending Carlsbad High School has been pretty amazing. Throughout the four years of attendance, I've gotten to have an amazing chance at learning through well-involved teachers. Many of my teachers have actually had in-field experience, which makes my learning experience far better than I may have found elsewhere. My Ap course teachers have all well prepared me for AP tests, and elective classes have me excelling in the arts (Orchestra, other musical courses). The school pride we have is exceptional, and the turnout at football games and other sports is impressive. I haven't had a bad experience here at all. We're very inclusive, especially to LGBTQIA+ students (and I should know, as one!) There's many clubs and support systems for everyone!
Carlsbad High School offers many educational opportunities to prepare students for their future. They offer great experiences to explore career options through the intern academy class. The school has a great staff that makes the place welcoming and supports all students. The worst part is the lack of diversity and the strict social norms that students enforce.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at Carlsbad High School but I would’ve loved to see some changes. I felt like I was only here for classes and the one sport that I played. Even the classes that I attended, I wasn’t necessarily excited to come to class. I feel like the student to teacher involvement could’ve been better. I also feel like some of the teachers I had used outdated lessons.
Overall, Carlsbad High School has a wide variety of AP classes to challenge students. Additionally, it has award-winning sports teams and fine arts programs.
fabulous supportive schedule, very strong academics and Sposrts opportunities along with theatre, dance, cheer and broadcasting.
The sports are a staple. The student section has amazing vibes and provides a great sense of community. The academics are challenging but not so much that you're overwhelmed. The extra curriculars are very fun.
Good school with lots of school spirit. Great sports programs. Some teachers need to be retired or replaced.
Carlsbad High School gave me the cliche high school movie experience everyone dreams of. Starting off as a freshman I was still in that awkward stage of growing and maturing. As my journey at Carlsbad continued, new electives and programs allowed me to open myself up to new experiences. I met so many people that I can proudly say will be lifelong friends. The cheer program has become my family forever. My cheer coaches and counselors gave me the support I needed to push through the challenges I was faced with. Some of the teachers would put us down, while others were nothing but kind. Football games gave all of us students something to truly be excited for. Winning student section competitions, competing against multiple schools was an amazing thing to see. Time truly does fly by fast. I regret a lot of my decisions in life.. But one choice I do not regret is picking Carlsbad High School.
A great school. Not too heavily focused on academics, so you don't feel pressured to take a lot of heavy courses. I'd say it's pretty average, good competition, but you'll be fine if you just want to breeze through. Counselors are dedicated to making sure you graduate, and really help out with all of your concerns.
The best part of my experience at Carlsbad High school has been playing violin in our chamber orchestra. Our teacher, Mrs. Allen, is incredibly kind and makes the classroom feel like a place of community and safety. The worst part of my experience is the casual racism and homophobia that takes place on campus. Many students make harmful jokes without realizing the impact of their words. I would like to see our campus become more welcoming to LGBTQ+ people and people of color.
