Hi Ray,
I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with missing favorites. Regret the inconvenience you have experienced.
Are you referring to the Favorites stored with Internet Explorer?
Did you logged in with temporary profile? Go to
Settings --> Sync my settings. See if a message in red mark as "You
are logged in with a temporary profile" listed there.
Before you come up with the above information, let me confirm that if you have selected
Keep My files and Settings during upgrade, then it will never wipe your files and settings. However check for the missing files in the below mentioned locations.
If you see any of the files or favorites missing post upgrade to windows 10, then mostly probably you can find them in
Windows.Old folder in your system drive. Go to C:\Windows.Old
and search for missing files. Also navigate to C:\Users\User Profile and see if you're able to find the missing profile with files there. In both cases you can use search bar on top to locate the missing files. Example: If the User
Profile name is computer when you were in previous OS, then the path will be
C:\Users\computer.
Note: "User Profile" in the path will be name of your user account. Moreover click and expand
View ribbon on top of the menu and select Hidden items
check box.
Keep us posted if you require further assistance.
