Hello everyone, this is the discussion thread for episode 1 of Them: The Scare. Please do not post any spoilers for future episodes.
Off to a solid start. It's very effectively different from season 1, but certainly united in its social commentary elements even if they're not as at the forefront here. I like how uncomfortable it is, particularly in Gaines' scenes (I assume we are supposed to think he is the killer but they're being just vague enough about him that I can't rule out a misdirect. If he's not THE killer, though, he certainly feels like he's on his way to becoming one.)
I like how his name is Ed Gaines, a nod to the serial killer Ed Gein. That was a nice touch.
There is also a character in BioShock Infinite named Ed Gaines.
When the lights start to flicker outside of the garage after the dinner scene, you can see the killers face in the window. It’s VERY quick but super creepy and effective
Ugh I’m watching the 3rd episode now..let me go back and see
I didn't think it was human...very uncanny valley feeling
I missed that! I gotta go back and see
