- BeachtshirtsCape Coral, FL15 contributionsWe were lucky to put together a group of Scouts and had the beat time discovering so many little facts about this piece of history. They do not get any help to keep this destroyer so all they collect goes to maintain and keep it open. It’s a wonderful window to how things used to be 60+ years ago.Written December 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gary RArlington, TN212 contributionsIn the middle of visiting our grandson (and his parents, of course) in Brighton, one of our trips was to Bay City to hang out on the beach. It turned into a great day. The water is shallow for quite awhile, giving even the youngest kids the chance to get wet and play.
There was a decent crowd but we never felt crowded and everyone was respectful and friendly.
They have shelter areas available for rent for family get-togethers, as well as a splash park for kids to play.Written August 20, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Planetarium is such a cool place to learn about space, rivers etc. We usually do at least 2 shows when we go.Written April 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jack SThree Rivers, MI338 contributionsThis is a great place for a nice quiet walk. The pier goes halfway across the river with a covered pavilion at the end. The river walk bridge takes the walker to the other side of the river. We did both.Written August 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim L1 contributionThe volunteers that get these old trucks running - wow. Amazing. One of them was driving (and teaching us how to drive) a 100-year-old model T! This place sure is a local treasure, definitely an "off the beaten path" attraction!"Written August 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RICART75Peru, IN2,175 contributionsOnce again, a stay of ours in Bay City meant a visit here.
This is a large facility, with a wide variety of items from which to choose, browse and/or explore.
This stretch of Bay City, has several great antique malls to visit. Malls like this are real time capsules of not only consumerism; but of craftmanship, creativity and sometimes even whimsy.Written March 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. People were out and about, boats were cruising by, the park area looked great. I walked through it and up the steps to the road to check out the flags. It's a nice gathering area.Written December 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RICART75Peru, IN2,175 contributionsOne of the joys of returning to Bay City is driving/walking up & down this section of the area.
If one relishes Victorian architecture, as we do, this concentration of craftmanship is an aesthetic uplift; a real joy.
More than once, we took an extra lap back & forth on Center Avenue just to appreciate a time when people took pride in what they created.Written March 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RICART75Peru, IN2,175 contributionsThis is a smaller; but well conceived, and nicely designed historical museum.
The history of the area is presented in an interesting and engaging manner. The narrative, and displays, are well conceived; and professionally crafted.
The maritime section, on the 2nd floor, is also quite interesting. Being a hot day, however, it was somewhat stuffy and a bit warm upstairs; so we did not spend as much time there, as the area deserves.
The gift shop is also quite nice, with a decent variety of books and items to browse.
All and all; this is a great option to spend a couple hours learning about the area, and its history.Written August 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
