Mercersburg Academy Reviews
Some pros:
- Rigorous academics that allow kids to soar with Advanced ("AS") or Honors classes, & can take normal college prep-level class in another area
-Rigor does NOT translate into 4 hours of homework/night, which means kids can explore new things
- Variety of sports / "PGAs" (after school activities), e.g. ski/snowboarding (10 min from resort), great dance program, theatre, diving/swim (gorgeous pool), typical sports (wrestling, tennis, squash, volleyball, b-ball, etc), internships, community service, etc.
- study abroad programs
- Awesome outdoor ed program (rock & ice climbing, biking, etc.)
- Unbelievable campus/facilities, esp: performing arts center, chapel, gym, student center, library -- gorgeous!
- Cool traditions, like Irving/Marshall week, Declamation, Step Songs, quirky tradition to always hold the door open for the next person.
- Overall, faculty / staff are extraordinary in their personal investment in kids.
Cons -
- 80 mins from airport
