The best part of my experience was sports, I really enjoyed the athletics program, the school was very supportive of athletics, the only thing I would suggest to change is having school start a little bit later.
Carthage Senior High School is a community centered school. The music and art programs are wonderful, as well as the teachers and directors of those classes. There are good opportunities for local students with families in need to receive assistance (Backpack Program). Most of the teachers have an evident love for their profession and clearly care about their students. They were very accepting and encouraging toward students. The food served at lunch and breakfast wasn't always the best, but most school food isn't. I would like to see change in the student culture. Some students weren't very kind or respectful to others, but there are good students at this school.
I have had an overall good experience at Carthage Senior High School. In the four years that I have been here, I have met a large variety of students and teachers, some of the teachers being good role models and some that seem like they do not care for there job at all. There are lots of opportunities to have fun and increase your education which I am grateful for however I feel like I have missed some of these opportunities because of improper guidance. I am happy to have gone to this high school, making many friends and learning a lot, I just wish that I could have learned about some of my opportunities earlier on in high school with the help of the teachers and staff.
