The last fifteen minutes of The Other Love are completely ridiculous, with a would-be rapist turned into a willing, trusted protector-cum-chauffeur thanks to the gift of a gaudy ring, and the most unconvincingly love story to ever walk the earth suddenly appearing as a happy ending. But you know what? Barbara Stanwyck is so goddamn great in every single frame of the movie that it doesn't even matter — she elevates this nonsense into the sky, and then some.
