It was going to be a dreary day and what do you do then visit a museum.
The exhibition 'the black hole' had just opened.
This exhibition brings together quantum physics and science.
There is a lot of experience that stays with you and things are explained in a simple way so that it is also super interesting for young people.
There is a lot you see but much more you don't see.
And for people with a medical background like me, the museum is a must.
You go back in time. We were there all day and didn't see everything.

What a great museum. The virtual intro to the museum is an absolute must. Great range of exhibits, with a variety of interactive exhibits.

It is a nice interactive museum. We enjoyed it immensely with the children, but we still left with a bit of an unpleasant feeling. We had something to drink in the cafe that was nearby, where we paid €3.50 for a bottle of Lipton ice tea, while the menu indicates that you pay this for an organic ice tea. We asked the friendly employees of the café about it, but they only told us that they should charge the ice tea at the cash register in this way. Just to clarify that you pay €1.75 for an equally large bottle of fristi.

Nice collection. Nice for part of the day.
Well suited for children with an interest in science (math experiments, for example) and for curious adults.
Here is my opinion about inclusivity in this museum. Visits are already quite inclusive, for example I have come across braille on the map, special wheelchair spaces in the anatomical theater and adapted tours. Unfortunately, my visit was not entirely suitable for me (yet?😊). Due to a brain injury, I cannot tolerate certain sounds, which was very difficult during my visit to this museum.
At the Golden Age exhibition, a kind of wheel was turned, which produced a kind of bell sound. I didn't realize that this sound was coming from some kind of interactive component and thought it was the fire alarm going off. The sound was annoying and it prevented me from further viewing the beautiful collection.
There were also annoying noises during Playing with Math. As a result, I could not sit quietly at the table with the tornado test (vortex) and therefore even had to keep my ears closed.
I hope that the museum will make further adjustments to this, then I will definitely come back. Thank you!

A lot to see and do, we spent a good 3 or so hours here. Very interesting exhibitions and a lot on display, and ventured from the past to present. Not as medical focused as I had expected however

Very nice museum about technology and health and healthcare over the years. It is made clear and understandable for everyone, including children. Even if it is more aimed at adults.

Nice museum, good collection and the tour is highly recommended. The museum has recently been completely renovated and it is a pity that all specimens can no longer be seen in the museum.

Boerhaave is makkelijk te bereiken vanaf parkeergarage lammermarkt, het lijkt op het eerste oog niet groot, maar mijn echtgenote en ik zijn er 4 uur zoet geweest. Veel afwisseling in de stukken en veel gebruik van multimedia, geluid en video, en practische proefjes om het tentoongestelde te duiden. Echt een lekkere dag weg! Beperkte keus in de horeca, maar goedkoop en lekker (tosti’s met brie aan te raden!)

Nice albeit small museum, with artefacts that probably no other museum has. Lots of things to do but not suitable for really young children, i'd say minimum age would be about 10.
