Rapper will release new material before release of her debut album

Azealia Banks has announced that she will release a mixtape this summer, before the release of her debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ this autumn.

Writing on Twitter, the rapper wrote that she has been working on “SOOOOO MUCH FLY SHIT” and that she had enough new material to release a mixtape before the release of her album. She added:

A fortnight ago, Banks was Tweeting about working with Lil Kim on her forthcoming album, but the relationship turned sour after Banks fired off a series of Tweets claiming that Kim didn’t write her own raps.

Last month she cancelled almost all of her summer festival appearances because of recording commitments. She is currently working on her debut LP ‘Broke with Expensive Taste’ and will play Reading and Leeds Festivals and BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend. Her October UK headline tour will still go ahead as scheduled.
