Sylvie Dorléac is a French actress and younger sister of popular actress Catherine Deneuve. Sylvie Noëlle Monique Dorléac was born on December 14, 1946, in Paris, France to parents, Maurice Dorléac and Renée “jeanne-Deneuve” Simonot. His father Maurice was an actor and dubbing director at Paramount Pictures whiles her mother, Renée is a former resident of the Odéon theatre.

Sylvie Dorléac’s father died on December 4, 1979, at the age of 78. She was raised alongside three sisters including Danielle Clariond Tappou. (her maternal half-sister who was born in 1936), actress Françoise Paulette Louise Dorléac (1942-1967) and actress Catherine Deneuve (born in 1943).

Sylvie Dorléac’s eldest sister, Françoise Dorléac died on 26 June 1967 in a motor accident after she lost control of a rented Renault 10 and hit a signpost. The car eventually flipped over and burst into flames.

Throughout her acting career, Sylvie Dorléac only appeared in three films, from 1953 to 1959, including Les Collégiennes alongside her sister Catherine, Le Blé enherbe and Les Petits Chats.

Sylvie Dorléac subsequently became her sister Catherine’s secretary for 38 years. Sylvie is presently married to Michel Cantelli with whom she walked down the aisle in February 1968. Michel had worked in the retail sector of medical and orthopaedic articles and was the manager of the company Cap Vital Santé Nice.
