Texas City is an up-and-coming area with a lot of future development slated for the area. Great location with very easy commute to Galveston. Within the next few years, it definitely will be an attraction. Looking forward to seeing the continued growth for the area
I'm not from Texas City, but when my family and I moved here we were welcome with open arms and we felt like this was a good start for me and my sister. Texas City is by the water so you get to see all types of sea life another thing that we loved about Texas City. I would like the school district improve because it not so great at the high school or junior high.
I grew up in Texas City and still live here. We have gotten more stores, restaurants, and gas stations built over the years. You can go downtown to 6th street and visit small businesses and the Texas City Museum. I always enjoy driving through the Texas City Dike and the skyline. You'll see people fishing from both. You can visit Bay Street Park, which is right next to the dike and skyline. You can find playgrounds, beach volleyball, soccer fields, a small splashpad, basketball courts, portable restrooms, and a trail that connects this all together. You may also see some ducks and turtles when crossing the bridges. I hope to see more businesses join the Tradewinds Center. DD's and Citi Trends are the only retail stores, while the neighboring spaces are empty. Two new small businesses were added across, so it is nice to see our city growing.
