Sophomore: My experience at the University of Illinois Springfield has been amazing. It is a very welcoming community. I like how small the classes are, leading to a closer relationship with a professor. They also offer a lot of help by advertising the Learning Hub, free tutoring and SI's. I also like how specific programs make me feel like I have a family on campus, like the First Generation group Necessary Steps. I also like how much the school tries to build communities by hosting different types of events. One thing that I would like to see change would be the way the advisors communicate with the students. Sophomore: MacCormac, now Generations College, has been an incredibly transformative experience for me. At 38 years old, I never thought I would have the chance to go to college again and finally get my degree. They saw my potential and gave me the chance I needed, and it has completely changed my life. The classes are top-notch, as are the professors, and I have already been accepted to a University when I transfer after graduating from Generations, as well as being recruited daily by many others, including Ivy League. So long as you commit to school, do the work and stay focused, you have the opportunity to go far here. Their paralegal program is superior and accredited by the ABA. The program director is also one of the best professors I have ever come across, and I am extremely fortunate to have found Generations. Junior: The school is a home away from home. Professors are very close and helpful. They are committed to help you succeed in your studies. Theres lot of resources to get help from the library to the group studies to the tutors that actually free and available on appointment. Students are thought the need to help each other and feel part of the class. Anytime you in class its a nonjudgemental zone you free to answer any questions or ask any without being judged. I like how we are prepared for our final NCLEX exams as early as sophomore level.
