"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Academic Scholars Put Finishing Touches to Alcuin Project

By Mr Phillips, Senior Academic Tutor (interim)

This year the academic scholars have been continuing their project based around the life and works of Alcuin of York. This cross-year project has been the culmination of nearly two years of work. Their most recent endeavours have seen them putting the finishing touches to their project before publication.

Three groups have been created each led by the Year 12 scholars. One group has been researching and formatting a document based around the history of Alcuin, one has been continuing to translate and solve some of Alcuin’s mathematical problems from the original Latin and the other has been designing what the publication will look like.

Huge progress has been made and the entire group looks forward to going to print before presenting to the whole school next January.
