Seton Hall offers hands-on experience immediately upon admittance, regardless of your major or concentration. With a nurturing environment, Seton Hall properly prepares students for the real world.
I have enjoyed my time here at Seton Hall very much! I am a part of the Education program, as well as an on-campus resident for four years. The program I am in has furthered my interest in the field greatly and has allowed me to expand my knowledge about the topic. SHU has allowed me to student teach 3 out of the 4 years I have been here, which has allowed me to gain hands-on and first-hand experience in a classroom. I also enjoy living on campus, as I feel connected to my campus community. With 150 clubs and organizations on campus, there are many great ways to get involved and meet new people! NYC is also a very close train ride away, so it is always fun to go to the city with my friends. It also allows for fun guest lecturers like Billie Jean King and Alex Rodriguez! I have loved my time here at Seton Hall and am glad I can call it my home.
In my time here I have honestly enjoyed all of the experiences and interactions I have had. There are genuinely an abundance of opportunities to get involved and to network amongst the Seton Hall community. The School the faculty and the students offer countless opportunities to engage and create relationships
Seton Hall was a small school, whose science professors cared more about their personal success than their students. I often think SHU hired professors based on accomplishments verses their ability to teach. The school was smack dab in the middle of 2 cities. If you went two blocks to the left, the area was extremely dangerous. If you walked to the right, the area was particularly safe and suburban. Night life on campus was non-existent, causing a lot of students to travel to surrounding colleges for entertainment.
Seton Hall has been a great experience so far. Beginning from the time I started my application, I was given a dedicated counselor who answered all my questions and aided me through my application. I'm sure all the counselors at Seton Hall University are dedicated. They provide you with every information you need about academics, campus life, housing, and career.
On campus, people here are very friendly and helpful. One thing I've noticed is how they're super enthusiastic about sports and entertainment. Through the newsletters I receive, I know there's a whole vibrant entertaining and sporting going on out there.
Seton Hall also has a plan to accommodate our finances-how we pay our fees- so we don't carry a burden of fee payments along with our education.

My first semesters at Seton Hall started off online, and I didn't really enjoy that experience but once I got the chance to live on campus that changed. I was able to make new friends and had a lot more focus on my class. They have programs installed to help students pass.
I loved the education provided, definitely lived up to my expectations. Some nursing professors were rude to students but overall good experience
Seton Hall has a great community feel. The professors care about their students and are very responsive.
I like how supportive the professors were during my academic year. They tailored feedback to each specific student rather than the general classroom. Courses were very engaging and hands on where professors will bring real life situations into class discussions and assignments to best prepare us for "real" world. I also favored the extra curricular activities that were offered at Seton Hall. These opportunities to strengthen my communication skillsets allowed me to land internships at top media companies like Warner Music, NBC, and more. Due to the distinguished curriculum and unique student activities I was able to be an asset in my professional endeavors during and after graduating from Seton Hall. There are many opportunities to create your own path as a student to reach your goals. If there is an area you want to pursue but is not available, the staff is very supportive in helping you create a world that works for you and contributing to your success. They put their students first.
At Seton Hall, there is at least 5 events per week. We have food trunks and SAB concerts throughout the year as well as carnivals during high stress times. As a Biology major, some of the professors at Seton Hall specifically those in chemistry and physics do not teach and you have to seek a lot of outside resources. However, there are great biology professors that are willing to help. It is simply the luck of the draw.
Decent school, certainly not worth the high tuition rate. Poor on the academic side with limited resources other than a writing center or “peer tutors.” Great community feel, however not really fun whatsoever.
A lot of internship and job opportunities being so close to New York City. Tight-knit community, everyone knows everyone, and I have no negative experiences with the people. I have had a very positive experience with the staff also, very accommodating. One thing I would change is improving the dorm rooms. Too small for the amount that you are paying.
1. You are right next to Newark. Don’t take a right out of the campus is a common line.
2. The academics in the DIPLO school are hit or miss. The Diplo school is filled with kids that have unhealthy fixations with soap boxing politics and think that bc it’s global they’re better than poli sci kids.
3. Thé campus is disorganized. If you have bursar problems, registrar problems, or God forbid a problem with a professor making inappropriate comments good luck.
4. The bursar office has sent me emails informing me I owned thousands of dollars. After a call with the provost I learned I owed 80 bucks. Look up what happened at the law school. :/
5. Many colleges want to support clubs this is not true at seton hall.
6. Many of the buildings are unsafe and not built for disabled people. The food actively gives people food poisoning regularly.

I am from NJ so I attended Seton Hall because I didn't want to go to Rutgers. I liked the FLASH filipino league and seton hall club and thats where most of my socializing came from. As a commuter I felt that I was there and went to classes but did not hang around as much because there was not much to do.
I greatly enjoyed my time at Seton Hall. I think it's a real hidden gem of research universities. What I really loved is that it's small enough that you are able to stand out and make personal relationships with professors and other students. It's also really close to New York City which gives you a whole new range of opportunities. Campus life is thriving with hundreds of different clubs and student organizations you can join. It was really easy for me to find a home at Seton Hall.
The thing about Seton Hall is that its hard to fall in between the cracks and end your undergrad feeling unprepared and ill-equipped (like many of my soon-to-be graduate friends are feeling at other universities). The support you have from faculty that work where I could only dream of working, and the support from fellow students that you'll see grow with you in your program is unmatched at this school. During my time here I've fought back and forth with my ambitions, took on a double major, switched to a minor, completed a cirtificate, worked a part-time job on campus... its all been possible through the connections and support system I've made at Seton Hall. Now, with jobs knocking at my door and plans to attend law school in the future, I am only one common success story in my class. We were all caught in a time and place where advancing is seen as the main objective and getting a degree is only to highlight a greater experience. 10/10, wouldn't have wanted anything else.
As a senior at Seton Hall, I can confidently say I made the best choice of my life four years ago when I decided to attend here. I have never felt so supported and cared for than I have at my time at Seton Hall. The professors, faculty and staff are dedicated and educated to the nines, ready to support and empower students every day. The wealth of opportunities available to Seton Hall students is unmatched. From the career center, dedicated to helping students with employment and internships, to the academic resource center providing tutoring for all subjects, and the multiple free mental health services provided to all students, Seton Hall excels at making students welcome and supported from the start. I have built my resume far beyond what I thought I would be able to during my time at Seton Hall, and I have made some life long friends along the way. It is such a bittersweet feeling to be graduating within the next few months and I owe all my future success to The Hall!
My experience at Seton Hall University has been great. It has been a great place to get involved, classes are small in size. In my time here my largest class was 30 students. I was able to get to know my professors.
There are many resources on campus that helped me grow and do better in class.

I absolutely love Seton Hall. I am a sophomore in the Business and Law program and I have had a great experience. I love that it is a Catholic School, yet no one pushes beliefs onto to you. The size is perfect and the school really cares about their student body. They put on free events for us, including free massages, which is really nice. And as I say to everyone...I bleed blue !
Seton Hall was a pretty transformative and beneficial experience. I learned a lot and made many memories here that I will remember until the day I die. Great School.
