My experience with Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania has been disappointing. The administration is unresponsive and disorganized, causing many delays and frustrations. Communication from the registrar's office is poor, with important information often missing or late. Academic support is weak, and it feels like the university cares more about bureaucracy than helping students succeed. Overall, I expected better support and efficiency.
The professors are invested in seeing students succeed. They are almost always available to students when they reach out for help. Most of the students are respectful and responsible. The campus always has different kinds of events and/or activities going on for students to enjoy their time there and be involved with their classmates and the community. Even being an older student myself, it has been an enjoyable experience taking classes at Ship.
I definitely enjoyed my time at Shippensburg University. I studied communication/journalism with a print media emphasis, and the communication/journalism program there is top-notch. You will learn from professors who are experienced and well-versed in their respective specialties and who care about your long-term success. They also encourage you to get involved with student organizations within the department, and they'll help you find real-world experience in the field while you're in school. Getting to know your professors through involvement outside of the classroom will definitely help you in the professional world. The professors there also keep in touch with you after you've graduated to keep up with how you're doing. As for campus life, Shippensburg offers a lot for its students. You'll find people and groups that you'll thrive with.
