It was our great pleasure to welcome over 200 alumnae back to Newstead Wood School last Saturday. Staff and students, past and present, spent the afternoon together touring the school and reminiscing together before they sat down to Afternoon Tea in the Main Hall. Entertainment was provided by two of our talented musicians Antonia and Zahara, prompting one alumna to send in a YouTube clip of the School Song which used to be sung at all formal events. Speeches were made by Janet Gould (class of 1965) and Thivyaa Ganganathan (class of 2015) who shared fond memories of their time at Newstead with our collected audience, as well as going on to speak of how their time at Newstead shaped their future lives. Former Headteachers Mrs Allen (2001-2013) and Mrs Smith (1979-1994) spoke before cutting the celebratory cake. We plan to hold more of these events in the future.
